It’s hard to stay focused on what you want and love when there are so many opinions out there. Sometimes I listen to opinions and sometimes, I don’t. Here’s a few examples of things people told me to change, but I didn’t. Do you have any examples of home decor advice you ignored?

I truly believe you can find high-quality pieces for home anywhere, you just have to be persistent and know what to look for. I have my Facebook Marketplace searches saved for “custom upholstered,” “Schumacher,” and I do eventually find one of a kind pieces. These are some of my favorites and what keeps me coming back to search on Facebook Marketplace!

Plate walls are everywhere and I love them too, but I don’t always like making holes in my wall. My favorite way to hang plates is to use Strips , but there are a few tricks to making them work. Here’s my advice for hanging plates using Command Strips.

The best part about visiting Glenwood Antique Mall is that you never know where the search will lead. A little patience, a discerning eye, and a willingness to wander can turn an ordinary shopping trip into the most rewarding treasure hunt! My booth is freshly restocked with antique oil paintings, silver pieces, and baskets!

Artwork doesn’t always have to be actual artwork. I find that using unique pieces like baskets, plates, and other items helps give my home a collected feel. Here’s a few examples of how I use pieces as artwork that weren’t intended to be artwork.

My quest for French transferware continues and I found this set of French talking plates from the 1870’s at an estate sale. They’re called talking plates because the whimsical scenes on the front would have given people something to talk about! They are a charming set perfect for serving charcuterie.

Arranging your living room, especially the placement of your sofa has a big impact on how a room feels. I use these two tips to help me create a room that’s perfect for entertaining. First, float at least one piece of furniture. Next,to arrange the furniture in 90 degree angles so that it defines the space and makes it easier for conversation.
