Happy Birthday to Mr Guitar himself, Chet Atkins.

Whether it was accompanying the Carter Family on the Grand Ole' Opry or honing his session chops in Nashville, this guitar icon was also working closely with Gretsch in New York to refine a premium archtop model. At Chet's request the western motif on the earlier 6120s was toned down, while still retaining the horseshoe headstock inlay as a nod to the previous versions - which became a lasting aesthetic change.

It’s always a good day when we’re prepping one vintage guitar to ship out as another one walks in the door.

The day we shipped out our 1959 Stratocaster (top), this absolutely stunning 1965 Stratocaster (bottom) walked in the door. 100% original, with original electronics, pickups, pickguard, finish, tuners etc, this is an amazing example of the beginnings of the CBS-era at Fender.

We’re still getting the ‘65 ready for the web, but reach out this week with any questions on this stunning vintage guitar.
