Established in 1971 by Susan Bateman, and still owned today by Susan and her husband Jim, the store has nine employees that assist our customers in the store, take orders and answer questions on the phone and internet, and who are all either knitters, weavers, spinners, or all of the above. The Yarn Barn of Kansas also supplies crafters all over the country with products from the website and catalog.

Melissa just finished knitting her sweater in one of our favorite (new to us) yarns, Harborside Aran by Brown Sheep 🐑 She said it was lovely to work with and that she can’t wait to start another! Convergence, hosted by Handweavers Guild Of America, is an immersive, biennial international conference for fiber artists, featuring over 100 seminars, workshops, a marketplace, fashion show, and juried exhibits.
