My letter to Granny in Heaven,
Dear Lord,
Please make sure my Granny receives this message:
July 6, 2022
It has been one month ago today, since the Lord took you away. I know the sun is shining brightly every day, but My world has been nothing but darkness and clouds of gray.
Do you Remember, that African violet I gave you for Mother's Day last year? You know the one you kept asking me why it never had bloomed again? Well, Linda told me that it finally bloomed for you today.
I wish you could've seen it before you left.. No, actually, I wish you didn't have to go. I wish Cancer didn't exist, because then maybe you'd still be here, I'm almost certain of it. For a long time, I believed that the year Papa left us was the most heartbroken I'd ever been. That is, until you were snatched from our lives in just a few short weeks. Losing you was one of my biggest nightmares, I knew it would happen one day, but I never imagined it would be the way it was. Having to watch you go through what you went through felt like my heart was being ripped piece by piece from my chest.
I know you're in a better place now, and you're no longer in any pain. But those of us left behind are the ones hurting now. There is a massive void in our hearts and in our lives that No One and nothing else can fill.
Don't worry about us, we will make it through, it's just gonna take us quite a bit of time. I just wanted to make sure you know that we still love you. The pain is great because the LOVE is great.
Someone else once said it best: ''If Love could have saved you, you would Lived Forever'' and it is so true. You were loved and adored by so many! People who never even met you, adored you.
Well, I think I've rambled on long enough.. so I believe I'll go and try to get some rest now, if it will come.
Until we meet again, remember:
''I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck''
