Sometimes we're so focused on what isn't going the way we planned that we overlook what God may already be doing around us.

We want answers, a clear direction, and preferably a timeline that makes sense to us. But God doesn't always show us the whole picture at once.

Maybe you're facing a change you didn't expect, waiting on an answer, or simply trying to figure out what comes next. Whatever it is, don't let the uncertainty of today keep you from recognizing the ways God is still at work.

Not every new beginning looks the way we imagined. That doesn't mean God isn't in it.

Wishing you a peaceful Sunday.

Well, this is a little different. For the first time in quite a while, I'm not spending my Thursday at Wildflower!

We're in that in-between stage right now, waiting for some work to be finished at 1809 Cache Road before I can start moving everything over.

In the meantime, the website is open and I'm still here filling orders. So if there's something you've had your eye on, you can still shop Wildflower from wherever you happen to be.

I appreciate everyone who's been so supportive through all these changes. I'm looking forward to getting into the new space and showing you what we've been working toward!

This verse has taken on a very different meaning for our family.

Romans 8:18 is the verse Abel Speaks, an organization that supports families carrying babies with life-limiting diagnoses and families experiencing infant loss, chose for this year. They have walked alongside my daughter and her family through some of the hardest days imaginable, and I’m incredibly grateful for the support they’ve given them.

There are things in this life we simply don’t understand. Things we would never choose and things we wish we could change. This verse doesn’t ask us to pretend those things don’t hurt. It reminds us that what we can see right now isn’t the whole story.

And maybe you need that reminder today, too.

Whatever you’re carrying right now — grief, worry, disappointment, uncertainty, or something you haven’t shared with anyone — this moment isn’t the whole story either. We may not understand the why, and we may not be able to see what comes next, but our hope was never meant to rest only in what we can see today.

For our family, Romans 8:18 means something now that it didn’t a few weeks ago. I have a feeling that’s how Scripture often works. The words don’t change, but sometimes life changes the way we read them.

And right now, I’m very thankful for this promise.

Well, today is it. My last day behind the counter at this Wildflower location.

There have been a whole lot of clothes hung on these racks, boxes dragged through that back door, displays changed because I decided I didn’t like them after all, and conversations at the counter that had absolutely nothing to do with clothes.

I’m ready for what’s next, but I’d be lying if I said it doesn’t feel a little strange knowing that after today, this won’t be where you come to find Wildflower anymore.

We’re open today until 3, and regular-priced short sleeve tops are still 25% off. After today, you can keep shopping with me online while I start the process of moving Wildflower down the road to 1809 Cache Road.

So this isn’t goodbye to Wildflower. We’re just trading one address for another, with a little online-only time in between.

Now I suppose I should start figuring out how all this stuff is getting from here to there.

Well, it may be October, but Oklahoma apparently isn’t ready to give up short sleeve weather just yet. We’re looking at temperatures in the 80s for the next week, so I’d say we still have a while.

All regular-priced short sleeve tops are 25% off, and today and tomorrow are the last two days to shop with me in person at this location.

After Saturday, I’ll be shifting everything online while we work on getting 1809 Cache Road ready. The website will stay open, so you can still shop Wildflower while I’m somewhere between here and there, probably covered in paint and wondering why I own so many hangers.

Come see me today or Saturday if you’re out and about. The 25% off short sleeve tops is automatic in store and online.

A little change of plans at Wildflower...

I’ve decided that Friday and Saturday will be our final two days open at our current location. After Saturday, Wildflower will be online-only while I work on getting our new home at 1809 Cache Road ready.

With everything our family has been through these past couple of weeks, I also need the flexibility to be available for my daughter for a while. I’m learning that not every plan has to happen exactly the way I originally wrote it down.

So, we’ll be here Friday and Saturday if you’d like to stop in and shop with us one last time at this location. Regular-priced short sleeve tops are still 25% off through Saturday.

Then the physical store takes a little intermission while I start turning 1809 Cache Road into Wildflower’s new home.

The website will stay open the whole time, and I’ll take you along for some of what happens behind the scenes. I have a feeling there’s going to be plenty to show you.

I like having a plan.

I like knowing what happens next, when it's going to happen and preferably having a backup plan in case the first plan gets sideways.

Life doesn't always cooperate with that.

Sometimes all you can do is make the best decision you can with what you know, do the work that's in front of you, and trust God with the pieces you can't see yet.

That's a good reminder for me this week.

Happy Sunday, friends.

I wanted to share a little more about why Wildflower has been unexpectedly closed this week.

Our family experienced the heartbreaking loss of our grandson. Right now, my place is with my daughter and our family as we walk through these very difficult days together.

I know the sudden closure came without much explanation, and I am so grateful for your patience and understanding. I’m not quite ready to say what next week will look like yet, but I’ll update everyone when I know.

Thank you for giving us a little grace and keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers.

Due to an unexpected family situation, Wildflower will be closed for the remainder of this week.

I appreciate your understanding and patience while I take some time to be with my family. I’ll share an update about next week’s hours when I know more.

Thank you for understanding.

I used to think things were supposed to match.

Not necessarily identical, but there needed to be some sort of obvious plan. The colors went together. The pieces belonged together. Everything behaved itself.

Apparently I’ve gotten over that.

Because then something like the Prairie Heart Necklace shows up and I’m standing there looking at a weathered heart, a little rose, scraps of fabric and lace, feathers, beads in colors that have no business attending the same meeting...and I love the whole thing.

There’s nothing particularly tidy about it.

That may be exactly why I like it.

A Rare Bird jewelry has that collected-over-time feeling, like somebody opened an old box of interesting little treasures and somehow knew exactly what to do with all of them.

Prairie Heart isn't the necklace you choose because it goes politely with everything.

It's the necklace you choose because you looked at it twice.

And sometimes that's reason enough.
