Aaron is betraying us…I mean, has received an exciting new job opportunity that is sadly taking him away from Phillips Music.

We want to welcome a familiar face taking his place! Jeremy has been teaching guitar lessons here for five years and will now be helping us out on the retail side as well!

Welcome Jeremy and good riddance…erm, luck Aaron! We will miss you!

Did you know our employees and teachers (who are former band and orchestra kids) still use their skills in their everyday lives? When your student starts their music journey, the possibilities of where it could take them are endless! Our employees teach privately and in public schools, perform in bands and as soloists, accompany musicians, own businesses, work on film sets, lead worship services, and are very active in the local arts and music scene.

When you shop with us for your back-to-school band and orchestra needs, you’re shopping with:

-A former band kid who majored in music education and teaches private woodwind lessons in addition to working in the store
-A musician who has owned the store for more than 20 years and who has played in ensembles from high school and college marching band to a touring Christian band
-A church musician whose first love is drums
-A guitar guy who also has some experience playing clarinet

We work closely with local band directors to make sure you’re getting exactly what your student needs, no matter which school they attend.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Phillips Music founder Don A. Phillips. Don passed away on June 28th at the age of 93.

From his obituary:

The late 1960s marked a pivotal turn in Don's life as he began tuning pianos in his garage, which ultimately led to the establishment of Phillips Music Company in the early 1970s. With his dedication and vision, he expanded the business from piano sales and tuning to include rentals, band instruments, lessons, and a wide array of musical equipment. Even after Don moved on, the legacy of Phillips Music Company lives on, bearing his name over 50 years after its inception.

He will be truly missed.
