We attended the Fire Prevention Month Open House at Layton City Fire this week educating on overall fire safety, specifically focusing on the dangers of overcharging and misusing lithium batteries.
This included
- Proper battery disposal methods
- Measures to extinguish electrical and lithium fires (including managing thermal runaway)
- Safety risks associated with charging and using everyday battery-powered devices (cellphones, tablets, hoverboards, tools, etc.)
Most batteries contain hazardous chemicals and rare metals that are a limited resource on our planet; by recycling these materials they can be reused for generations to come. Visit us at Batteries Plus for safe, responsible recycling of batteries, phones, tablets, bulbs, and more.
