Peony roots, garlic and "fall bulbs" are here! This is the time to plant bareroot peonies, garlic, and "fall bulbs" such as tulips, daffodils, hyacinths & more - that bloom in the spring. We'll share more on the bulbs & garlic in the near future, but the peonies are very time-sensitive - we can only hold them a couple weeks!

So, here are the peony roots we have...

Garden (herbaceous) Peonies:
Coral Sunset - deep coral to gold-peach, "sunset shades,"
Dr. Alexander Fleming - rose pink, "candy pink," and very fragrant.
Kansas - vibrant watermelon-red & they resist fading in the sun.
Karl Rosenfield - raspberry red, foliage often turns burgundy in the fall!
Peter Brand - heirloom, very dark maroon-red
to rich purple-red.
Pink Hawaiian Coral - intense coral-pink to soft apricot-pink, fragrant.
Sarah Bernhardt - heirloom, classic soft pink, beautiful cut flower.
Shirley Temple - very large soft blush pink flowers, aging to white.
Sorbet - "bomb style" with alternating layers of pinks and creamy white.

Hybrid intersectional 'Itoh' Peonies:
All That Jazz - soft apricot-pink petals uniquely speckled with deep red or magenta, with a prominent dark plum basal flare in the center!
Bartzella - sulfur- or lemon-yellow blooms measuring 6-8" across!

We've got a couple cold nights, tonight and tomorrow! If you haven't already, you'll want to bring in houseplants, tropicals and annuals such as ferns, millets, purple fountain grass, celosia & coleus if you don't want the frost to get them! 🥶

Things that should be fine left out: Mums (the flowers could get a little "frosted" on the edges of the petals, but the plants themselves should be fine), pansies, violas, ornamental cabbages & kales (they should really start to color up nicely after this frost), dianthus, snapdragons and perennials... the leaves on the perennials may get frosted, but the plants themselves should be fine. This is a good reminder that's it's time to get those perennials in the ground soon if you haven't gotten around to it yet. 😬

Also remember that things you want to cover, cover them with fabric - old bed sheets work great! If you're using plastic, it must be propped up away from the plants, not touching them.

Ok friends, you have .jc Janna Cole to thank for this... we were trying to think of some things to do for October - Breast Cancer Awareness, and she remembered the "boobie cactus"! 🎀😁💗

That's right, we got a shipment of Myrtillocactus geometrizans 'Fukurokuryuzinboku,' a relatively rare, slow-growing succulent known for its unique and interesting growth pattern. 👀

They are $24.99, and we will be donating $5 from each sale to The American Cancer Society. 💗

Last call for bareroot Tall Bearded Iris rhizomes!!

These need to be planted, so we're offering 25% off through Thursday, and then we will be potting up the remainder. They kind of look dead, but they are not - they are dormant. See the 2nd photo? We potted those up about a week and a half ago. Once you plant them in warm soil and get them watered in, they will spring back to life! * Soak the roots for an hour in water with Root Stimulator before planting. *
