Someone just now told me that they had never heard of Agatha Christie until they came to the shop. That is a sad thing, because the Queen of Murder Mystery had been missing from their lives, but it is also a happy thing because Oma's Classics Book Nook was able to intoduce a new author to them 😁

Oma's Classics Book Nook here, aka Sandra 😁 When I first began to dream about putting a small book shop into downtown Leavenworth, that is, into our coffee shop, my husband didn't need much convincing. My focus, I said, will be on the classics. I am a grandma now and I want our grandkids to love classics just as much as I do. Why classics? Well, books written by dead authors have stood the test of time and we just don't have a ton of great books anymore. Don't get me wrong, I do read current authors, but I do love the classics. One of them is Agatha Christie. For me, she is the ultimate classic novelist of crime and mystery. I just love her! She traveled the world, she wrote about what she saw, she loved books, and she created one of the all-time best characters I have ever met: Miss Marple. Margaret Rutherford is, in my opinion, the best personification of Miss Marple. I grew up watching those black and white Miss Marple movies and still love them today. Tommy and Tuppence are my second favorites, especially "Postern Fate", and I am liking Hercule Poirot more and more. I think my favorite of his is "The Death of Roger Ackroyd". It's intriguing to the last letter 💛
