Stay tuned for how we will pay homage to the history of the Biringer family as well as the building itself. Also for those who may not know, Buck knives started in this very location. A young Horace Hoyt Buck was an apprentice, blacksmith, and gunsmith to John Biringer. Hoyt Buck improved on a method of tempering steel that John Biringer had taught him, which turned out to be the start of Buck Knives.

Pictured below is a brief historical summary of the building as well as a picture of John Biringer himself in the building, and the store front back in the day. Please enjoy these pictures as there will be more to come!

Please note that Raymos Pawn & Gold has recently moved to 601 Shawnee Street. This location is formerly known as the Biringer building which can be found at the intersection of 6th & Shawnee. Our hours, days of operation and contact information will remain the same, which are as follows.

Tuesday-Friday: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Sunday & Monday: Closed

During this challenging time I’ve received questions regarding individuals pawn accounts... I don’t know about other shops but, I will NOT be forfeiting ANY accounts for at least 30 days. PERIOD!!! So, again if an individuals account should come due in the next 30 days and they are unable to pay please communicate with me so I can mark your account. Now, for those questioning if a pawnshop is essential... YES! I’m a state licensed financial institution held to the same standards as any consumer credit lender in the state of Kansas. As a licensed financial institution pawnshops have been deemed essential. And YES I did confirm this with both the city of Leavenworth and the state of Kansas. We’ve been busy moving so, a quick update on what’s going on. I recently sold my building on 4th St. to a medical group. The deal closed quickly. We are currently moving into another building located at 708 Shawnee St. here in Leavenworth. I should be open for business at the new location Tuesday October 14. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this transition.
