I've been organizing and hosting markets in different ways for about 9 years now, always crafting these nice posts with emojis and bullets, double and triple checking for spelling accuracy, aiming for professionalism and cringing everytime auto-correct makes me seem like an illerate weirdo.
I've probably sat at my computer and drafted hundreds, if not more than a thousand promotional posts, asking myself what will get attention, what sticky catch-phrase will cause someone to stop scrolling and actually read. I used to get a kick out of watching other promoters (mostly friends, but sometimes not!) straight knock-off the wording because they were great posts and I wasn't bothered by it because, you know, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Watching AI regurgitate in a second the exact words that I have put out into the world for the last decade is starting to feel weird.
I hate feeling like I need to include typos so that poeple will think I'm a real person. I hate that all the hours I invested in being original for so long, just resulted in me writing copy and paste posts for every single market owner in the whole world. I'm not saying that I single-handedly trained AI for marketing events, because there are tons of brilliant event marketers out there. At least...they used to be brilliant before everyone was. I'm just saying that there used to be a way for me to show how special and different our markets were and now it is just so.much.harder.
Does anyone else feel this way? Is AI making your life easier in some ways but harder in ways that are hard to define?
