October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month- at LAWS we have our biggest fundraising event of the year on Friday - check out the silent auction items & make a bid that supports survivors. The news is heavy right now - we provide services every day to survivors of both domestic violence & sexual assault. You may feel helpless reading the headlines from Cornell, you may be asking - what can I do- how can I help? Support your local organizations that provide services to survivors every day.
A lot of folks are in disbelief or upset but folks this happens all the time, to people you know - your neighbors, your friends, your family members- men, women, young, old. We see it in our work every day. Help your community- volunteer at your local DV/SA organizations- donate- so that survivors of sexual violence continue to have a safe space where they can turn & receive support - where they can hear the words I believe you, I will sit with you, I will continue to support you.

Join our community for an evening of reflection, remembrance, and resolve in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Hear from local leaders and survivors, connect with local organizations and resources, and stand together in support of survivors and a future free from domestic violence.

The evening will conclude with a candlelight vigil honoring those whose lives have been lost to domestic violence.
