People are always surprised when they find out that the Boo of Boo’s Brew Coffee, is not only real but also one of our family cats. Invariably the question they ask next is if we bring him to the store? Boo is currently still on his first life, and to have him at The Gothicary would cause him to go through his other eight lives pretty darn quickly. There might come a time when we could have him at the store, but now definitely isn’t it.

Due to Rachel having a great idea of taking some old standing grids we had used for shows and throwing them up on the wall to hang totes, we got to the store early today.

Along with Rachel’s CEO level grid idea, we had a lot of must see/purchase stock to put out. In the process of unloading the truck, a mug was broken (okay, I broke it). I sure hope breaking the mug wasn’t an omen. It’s bad enough it’s going to come out of my paycheck.

Hello there,
Rachel, the owner of The Gothicary, who coincidentally is also my wife, is finally letting me post on the store’s Instagram page. Her one stipulation is that when I post I let you all know it’s me and not her posting. So if a post makes you smile chances are it’s me, but if a post makes you shake your head and say, “What the ….” then odds are that’s also me.

My name is Doug and I hope you either stop by the store to say hello, or stop by our booth at one of the many shows where we set up our pop-up Gothicary shop. Regardless of what Rachel says, I really am a pleasure.

We’ve made a terrible mistake.

By “terrible mistake,” we mean we ordered too many beautiful things and now we’ve run out of room.
