Friday, December 31, 2021… a bittersweet day. The end of an era for Head South. Established December 1989 (32 years). However, the original founder was my brother, Fred Seaman.
Sandy and I want to thank all our former employees:
Jay Hunt, Gary Patton, Kenny Jones, R.C. “Scotty” Scott, Shannon Burgess, David Prescott, James Maglothin, Cody Eaton, Rae Strickland, Charles Comeaux, Patrick 'Paddy' McCauley, Dennis Gene Montgomery, and our boys Kristopher and Brandon. Apologies if we failed to mention you but please feel free to add your name in the comments (32 years is a long time and my memory is not as sharp).
To our many loyal customers that supported us through the years, we humbly thank you. To our many friends who stopped by for fellowship and coffee, please know how much your friendship is valued.
I will be spending a lot of my time with my grandsons and just being their pop!

Well, here we are. It’s the end of the final day. My dad bought Head South in 1989. I was two years old at the time and have pretty much been here in this store my entire life. I grew up here. Most of my friends have known this place as the hang out spot during my high school years (2001-2005). There’s been a lot of good times here at this shop over the years. I’ve met a lot of people, made quite a few friends during my time at Head South… some of which are no longer with us anymore. This store has been a big part of my life and now that chapter is coming to a close. I will admit though, I feel like Bilbo Baggins when he said: “I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.” That being said, I’ll miss a lot of the faithful regulars that have come in over the years. I’ll miss the good conversations, the laughs, and hopefully will see you around town some time. Now it’s on to the next big adventure. Until next time! 🖖🏻 Live long and prosper.
