Today was the day! 🍨🫟

If you’ve been following along at all with my daughter’s small business journey, then here is the update you’ve been waiting for! It was so much fun getting to see her take this market so seriously, practice money math and conversational skills, and then finally set up shop and sell her homemade slime today!

And amazingly, she SOLD OUT in just two hours! 👏🥹

Getting to watch your child do something that is directly outside of their comfort zone is such a beautiful thing. She was really nervous this morning, but she pushed herself and said afterwards, “I really loved it and want to do more markets, Mom!” 🥰

Thanks for coming along on this journey with us. She’s signed up for several more markets this summer, so we’ll see how those go!

Brenda from has poured her heart and soul into this curriculum, filling it with crafts, activities, and SO MUCH hands-on fun to make history come alive!

She covers early American history SO beautifully, and tackles big concepts of government, taxation, and more in an easy-to-understand way for those young learners. And what I love is that everything is included in the book - I don’t have to print off a ton of extra papers for the crafts and activities. 👏

Brenda has created something entirely unique in this curriculum and I am so excited to dive into it with my kindergartener this fall!

I’m obsessed with them! 😍

These sprinkles were SO easy and so cheap, compared to buying them already made. Yes, they can take some time, but my kids enjoyed diving in and rolling clay while we listened to our Green Ember audiobook.

I think these giant sprinkles will be such a fun texture to add to my daughter’s slime business!

Did we make a GIANT mess? Yes. Was it worth it? 1000%

We’re just about ready to jump into summer break and with summer, comes extra, exciting, hands-on learning! My eldest has been begging to start a business and has had a million different ideas of things she could make and sell. But we think we might have found a winner. 🏆

An ice cream-themed slime bar! 🍨

Slime is all the rage right now, so what if a child could choose their desired texture of slime, the color they want and then add toppings to it to take home and play with later? All served up in an “ice cream parlor” booth.

Doesn’t that sound fun?! 🤩

Today was our recipe and product testing, to iron out any issues and figure out how to make each recipe our own. We made a giant mess, ruined some clothing, flicked slime into hair, and made some mistakes along the way - but we also had so much fun and learned a lot!

Our next step is to figure out how to make large batches and which colors she wants for the various textures of slime. Then we have to find the right toppings and either make them or buy them to prepare for her first market! 👏

She will learn so much through this process - even if she doesn’t sell much, I know she will grow and enjoy the adventure!

How am I a mix of ALL OF THEM? 👀

No but seriously, I CANNOT believe May will be here this week and am feeling all the things. Like, I’m tired of teaching but have so many ideas for summer fun, but I also enjoy our structure so I don’t want to lose that, but I also want my kids to explore and adventure and have some carefree summer time, while also still continuing their education and making sure they don’t forget everything!!!

Anyone else relate to the craziness or is it just me? 😂😬
