Which piece are you most excited about??

In June, I spent 10 days in England filling a shipping container with antique furniture, art and decorative objects - and now we are only days away from its arrival in Kansas City.

…at these detailed fetal anatomy engravings - dated c1800, they come from Culpeper’s The English Physician. Each one gives us a fascinating view into the 18th century understanding of pregnancy, growth inside the womb, and delivery.

And they taught me about more than just medical history - the process of finding just the right frames taught me about the importance of taking the long route and resisting throw away culture.

I’ve had the nagging desire to start writing long-form posts again, and it feels so good to be back at it.

I started blogging in the early 2000s. I’ve written about living in Cambodia, tackling my unread shelf, life as a mom and recovering expat, and now - learn to be an antiques dealer.

Writing has always been a part of my life. Even when I’m not writing publicly, I journal most days as a way to sort my thoughts, process emotions, and stumble my way towards the life I want to live.

So if you’d like to follow along on a journey that will be imperfect, sometimes embarrassing, and candid - welcome.
