The celebrations I style rarely start with decorations.

They start with the pieces underneath.

The thrifted platter.

The cake stand found on a secondhand shelf.

The stack of plates that somehow makes every gathering feel a little more special.

Over time I realized those foundational pieces are just as much a part of a celebration as the designs layered on top.

So I created a space just for them.

I’m excited to introduce .bb (linked in bio) — a sister account where I’ll be sharing the thrifted, secondhand, chosen, and heirloom pieces that make beautiful foundations for gatherings.

Inspiration for the platters, trays, serveware, and linens that can be used again and again — layered with the party designs you see here.

Because a life well celebrated doesn’t start with decorations.

It starts with the pieces we gather around.

If you love thrifting, collecting meaningful pieces, and effortless entertaining, I think you’ll feel right at home there.

There’s something about a really good serveware piece.

The platter you reach for every birthday.
The cake stand that somehow works for everything.
The thrifted tray that makes takeout pizza feel like a party.

At Beam & Basket, I believe the most beautiful celebrations start with pieces you already love — the collected, the heirloom, the thrifted, the “I found this at Target 8 years ago and still use it weekly” pieces.

So tell me 👇
What’s your go-to serveware piece?

Drop a photo in the comments or describe it —
• Is it thrifted?
• Was it a wedding gift?
• A clearance find you’ll never let go of?
• Your grandma’s white ceramic platter you use for literally every occasion?

Let’s build a little inspiration thread of the pieces that anchor our tables — season after season.

Because when your foundation is good, everything layered on top just works.

Simplicity doesn’t have to be ordinary.

Sometimes it’s the subtle detail —
the bead trim, the finish, the weight —
that makes a piece worth keeping.

The ones you use repeatedly?

That’s your foundation.
So everything layered on top can shine.

Chosen. Yours.

Hi 👋 I’m Jessica — and if you’re new here, I’m so glad you found this space.

Creating has always been the thread running through my life — it’s how I think, how I process, and how I connect things together. Motherhood didn’t change that… it refined it.

These days, I design versatile party collections for creative makers — especially those building photo-worthy celebrations for aesthetic-loving moms.

I care deeply about how things layer.
How they feel in real life.
How they come together without stress or scrambling.

Because celebrations should feel cohesive — not pieced together.

If you’re a maker who wants your work to look pulled together and easy to bring to life… you’re in the right place.

Lately, I’ve been simplifying — noticing what I truly reach for in my home and in my work.

I don’t want more. I want what feels right.

The pieces I return to.
The ones I use again and again.
Like my favorite cake stand.

Collected, not accumulated.

Today felt like a small win.

I fired up my laser for the first time since the cold snap — garage door open, sun on my face, warm air instead of layers. It was refreshing in more ways than one.

Refreshing to work with the physical versions of my designs again.
Refreshing to prototype pieces from what’s coming next.
Refreshing to remember how much joy lives in making.

Most of my day still looked like laundry, dishes, and grocery pickup — with kids underfoot. But somewhere between the ordinary, I got to create something that feels aligned with this season of life.

Slower.
Simpler.
More intentional.

I’m learning that celebrating doesn’t always look like a party. Sometimes it looks like finding joy in the doing. In the everyday. In choosing work that fits into real life instead of fighting it.

Designing from this place — with collected ideas, thoughtful details, and room to breathe — has been life-giving in ways I didn’t expect.

This is what a life well celebrated is starting to look like for me 💚

And it’s shaping everything I’m creating next.

A little shift…a lot of heart. Announcing my next chapter. I hope you stay tuned. 💚
