At the age of 10, my meme introduced me to knitting and crochet. I immediately fell in love with the process, watching a simple ball of yarn transform into various

shapes with just a hook or needles. Now, years later, my passion for these crafts has only grown stronger. Each time I sit down to knit or crochet, it feels like a therapeutic escape from the chaotic pace of daily life. As one enjoys creating, seeing others appreciate my work is an added bonus. In 2023, I launched my Hugs for Heads business as a tribute to my dear friend Denise who passed away after battling cancer for years. During her hair loss journey, she struggled to find headwear that made her feel confident and beautiful. That's when I made her a hat that became known as "My Denise". Her smile said it all - she felt pretty again. My goal with this collection is to bring comfort and joy to anyone facing illness or simply looking for something special to wear. A portion of all proceeds will go to the Cancer Support Fund of Central Mass in loving memory of Denise Downes♡ & Virginia Tocci♡

Wool, shaped by hand. Every stitch deliberate. 🧶

This one took an afternoon of quiet work in the studio. Just me, a crochet hook, and a skein of buttery soft yarn slowly turning into something you can actually pull on and wear out the door.

Look closely at the photo and you'll catch those little ridges where the light pools. That texture only shows up when a hat is built one loop at a time, the slow way, the handmade way.

No two pieces I make are ever exactly alike. A stitch sits a hair differently, the yarn catches the light its own way, the brim hugs a little snugger here than there. That's kind of the whole point of choosing handmade over something pulled off a factory line.

She asked for something no one else would have. So I picked up my hook. 🌸

A plain denim jacket came into the studio. What walked back out? Hand-crocheted pink sunburst sleeves, every petal stitched one loop at a time, right here at my table.

There's a certain weight to handmade that mass-produced bags never quite carry. ☀

Picture a long patio evening. Iced coffee sweating onto the wood table, a little bowl of olives getting passed around, and this crochet crossbody just sitting there like it's been part of the friend group all summer.

Light beige stitches, brown sunflower fringe, every single loop pulled by hand right here in my studio. It's the kind of piece that gets asked about between sips of wine, and I love that.

A well-made piece deserves to live in your closet for years, not seasons. So I wanted to share the three little tips I pass along to every customer who takes one of my tops home.

The part of summer that stays all year 🦀

I wanted to make a little piece of the coast that doesn't wash away when the seasons change. So I sat down with natural beige rope, knotted him stitch by stitch, and gave him two tiny blue beads for eyes.

He's compact enough to nestle right into wild grasses, dried chamomile, or whatever summer botanicals are already living on your shelf.

He's also a much better house guest than a real crab. He won't pinch your toes, he doesn't track sand onto the rug, and he looks incredibly handsome doing absolutely nothing all day.

"Where did you get that?" 🌼

That's the question this top was made for. A cream base with horizontal stripes in pink, blue, green, purple, red, and brown. Fringed textures that catch the breeze and the sunlight at the same time.

It's called scrapwork for a reason. Every leftover length of yarn from past projects found a home in this piece, which means no two stripes line up quite the same way. One-of-a-kind in the truest sense.

Wear it over a bralette with light wash jeans. Layer it on a swimsuit for the porch, the patio, the long walk home from the farmer's market. Iced coffee in hand, optional but encouraged. ☀
