Megs is clearly handling the “coastal lifestyle” portion of the BT brand while I continue managing the “injured reserve / bed-based operations” division.

I’m not jealous at all.

No live check-in today because the camera angles from bed are… humbling. 😂 I’m almost to a semi-seated position in bed, so making progress! Leg is still painful and also numb in some places. So🤞 for continued improvements.

The kids are apparently engineering me some kind of trick-or-stick contraption so I can improve production quality from the injured reserve suite. Should be arriving this week. Blue Taylor R&D is really thriving over here.

Also, shoutout to my arms, which have apparently decided this is their moment. Between the crutches, hauling myself around and compensating for one completely uncooperative leg, I’m basically running an accidental upper-body boot camp. If nothing else, I’m coming out of this with shoulders. 💪😂

In the meantime, tomorrow I’ve got a solid hour-and-a-half Suburban ride, so I’ll be back with more unsolicited feature reviews for anyone still on the fence.

chevrolet … I’m still waiting on that sponsorship call. Don’t make me flip to Ford. The kids are already lobbying hard. 😂

And speaking of Chevy, Rob’s truck somehow came with this absolutely gigantic smart TV, which I have now discovered gets regular TV.

I don’t know how.
I’m not asking questions.
I’m injured and accepting blessings as they come.

It’s been a minute since I’ve watched Judge Judy, and I am embarrassingly behind on Below Deck, so apparently recovery now includes daytime television and maritime drama.

Honestly, this IR situation is becoming less “rest and recover” and more “discover every random feature in our house and vehicles that I’ve ignored for years.”

Stay tuned. Literally. 😂

Good Morning from the Injured Reserve List - you better believe my ski video made its way through the Duke Health system. I’m still shocked at how many folks can’t slalom ski. So now I’m on the IR but determined to make it great again. O'Brien Watersports - your ski sales are going to pick up, and double handles will make a comeback.

Blue Taylor vibe check: this grey shirt is comfortable and goes great with my leg brace. 😂

Still in good spirits—Duke Health took great care of me. Met some incredible healthcare workers, got a cool new brace, and I’ve officially learned that you do not realize how much you use your hamstring until you can’t.

We’re making the 4-hour trek home today with fingers crossed that my SOMD people can work a little magic and help me get a soft-tissue MRI tomorrow or early this week. Right now it’s looking like a hamstring tendon situation, and I’m definitely hoping to get in front of a sports medicine specialist ASAP.

For someone who is normally moving 100 mph, this whole “sit still and don’t use your leg” thing is… not my strongest skill. 😂

I’m in pain, but I’m laughing, and all the calls, texts and check-ins have helped more than you know.

And yes… apparently a hamstring injury really is a literal pain in the ass. 🤦‍♀️😂

Hey … I’d like it officially noted that I was out here doing my part to keep old-school slalom alive for the next generation. 😂💦🚤

Glass water. Not another boat in sight. Perfect Friday evening sun. Kids cheering me on - “You’ve got this Mom!” Single O’Brien ski. Matching Blue Gloves on. Double handles, because we still have standards around here and I learned from the best. Got up first try and genuinely felt like the call from the USA slalom ski team could come any minute.

Second run?

SNAP.

And just like that, my tryout ended with a boat-board rescue, a team of family + volunteers hauling this highly trained ski figure from boat → dock → stairs → gravel → stretcher… and my first-ever ambulance ride through the backroads of Virginia. 😂

Currently hanging out in trauma at VCU Health in South Hill waiting on CT results and preparing to graciously allow the US to name an alternate for my spot on the 40+ slalom ski team.

In all seriousness, the people here have been AMAZING. The night shift, EMS, fire department, volunteers, and especially my family — every single person who helped get me off that lake tonight deserves a medal. ❤️

Also apparently there was a tornado just north of us, the hospital is one of the town’s biggest employers, and Microsoft just moved in across the street… so honestly, I somehow managed to injure myself in a place that feels strangely like home. 😂

So… Happy Friday, y’all.
