Many of you had just started getting to know Albert. We were heartbroken to lose him so soon, but we’re grateful he was surrounded by love during his final days. ❤️ Please keep our rescue team in your thoughts.

With heavy hearts, we’re sharing that our sweet sanctuary boy, Albert, passed away this evening.

When we welcomed 16-year-old Albert into our sanctuary, our hope was simple: that however much time he had left, he would spend it surrounded by love, comfort, and kindness after losing his lifelong companion, Lucy.

We never imagined that time would be measured in days.

Albert was resting comfortably when we left the café today, but later this evening we received the heartbreaking call that he had passed peacefully.

While we don’t know exactly what happened, we do know this: Albert did not spend his final days alone. He was loved. He had a soft place to sleep, full bowls, gentle hands to pet him, and countless people who cared about him.

Sometimes that’s the greatest gift we can give an elderly cat—not more time, but better time.

Thank you to everyone who welcomed Albert with such open hearts. We wish we’d had longer with this sweet old gentleman, but we’re grateful we were able to give him a safe place to call home.

Run free, Albert. We hope Lucy was waiting for you. 💙🐾

Two of our gray lounge kitties have found their furever homes!

Kicken’s new mom came in earlier in the week and instantly fell for his loving personality and lion-like majestic appearance.

Pirate’s new mom was excited to finally take him back where his story started! He may be going back to St. Mary’s College of Maryland, but this time he doesn’t have to worry about the feral outdoor life.

We’re so happy for both of these boys and their new adventures!

This is Albert, our newest sanctuary resident. While he isn’t available for adoption, he’s here to spend his golden years surrounded by kindness, warm beds, and all the love our guests have to offer.

We’d love for you to stop by, say hello (if he’s awake 😉), and help make his retirement as cozy as possible.

Cruella, the tiny kitten-sized girl with the ironic name, has been adopted!

Cruella is one of the sweetest cats to ever come into the lounge, so it’s not difficult to understand how she’s found herself a furever home. Congratulations to her new family on adopting such a love bug! 🐞

Our rescue is in need of some help. Please share!

This week has been a reminder of just how quickly rescue expenses can add up.

💙 Leo is heading to the vet tomorrow to be assessed for the major dental procedure he's desperately needed.

💙 Brauny recently had his leg amputated, and stitches removed after surgery, and is continuing to recover.

💙 Breezeberry wasn't feeling well and needed veterinary care.

💙 And, with heavy hearts, we recently said goodbye to our beloved Roman. His euthanasia and cremation were one final act of love we were honored to give him.

We never regret saying "yes" when a cat needs help. But saying yes also means the bills keep coming.

Right now, our rescue bank account is running low, and we're asking for help to get through this stretch. Every donation—whether it's $5 or $500—goes directly toward veterinary care, medications, and giving cats the treatment they deserve.
