Perennials at 30% off include the majority of remaining stock.
Not on sale: Re-blooming Lilac, Hydrangea, Peony that have been re-potted & fertilized within the last month into 3 or 5 gallon containers.
Mums are regular price.
We will not be lowering prices further this season.
All perennials we don't sell each season go into our over-winter program, get extra TLC and come back out the following season bigger, stronger and at an increased price due to their proven ability to withstand whatever Northern Michigan weather has to offer.

Mum Questions We ALWAYS Hear, Answered:
Hardy Mums?
Most garden mums are the hardy variety. The exception is usually those big beautiful planters you see at the big box stores that are busting with so many blooms you just can't resist them. Those mums are 'bred' to do just that - make a big show. Unfortunately, they are often quick to fade and then die out.
In Ground Planting?
Planting mums in the ground should always happen before they are in bloom. Once the plant is producing flowers, that's it for the roots' growth. The plant puts all its energy into flowering, not growing the root system it needs to survive the winter and return next season. The BEST time to plant mums in ground is early summer. Yes, you can still get them in early September, but only if they aren't already showing color. Our "rule of thumb" is only a 50% chance they will return if they have color. How Long Do Blooms Last?
About 4 weeks from start to finish. Some varieties have a shorter bloom span, some will go for 5-6 weeks. Frost will kill those beautiful blooms so if it's predicted, bring them inside or cover them well.
Lewiston Area Greenhouse Has 3 Sizes, Why?
This year, we opted to offer a little bit of everything - but still plant the hardy varieties. Our "big" containers have 3-5 plants in them and if you put them in ground before they bloom, there is a 95% chance they will come back next season for you. Our "mid" containers have 2 plants of the same color in each one, giving you more 'bang for your buck'. We also have the traditional single plant pots as well.
For the next 10 days or so, our plants are still 'in-ground-ready'.
Our remaining perennials are 20% off.
September hours are Sunday - Friday 10am - 1pm & Saturday 9:30am - 1:30pm with our "shop while we are offsite" option available anytime outside these hours.
Corn Stalks and Pumpkins will be available soon to round out your Fall Decor needs.

The Greenhouse will be doing some re-decorating in our perennial field in the next week or so.

If you would be interested in any or all (4 total) of those very large benches we have out there (10' x 5- 6') that are treated lumber with heavy duty "deer" fencing over lay and/or some pallets (6 total) to use for firewood, please stop by Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday 10am-12pm. You will need an assistant and a trailer for the benching.

These items are FREE.

I will update when gone and/or If no one comes by before Wednesday, I will re-post this.

It's that time again ... Re-potting our perennials that have outgrown their original pots has been one of our main goals this week and will continue for a while yet.
We are giving you a photo example of just exactly why we do this using our re-blooming lilac bushes.
As you can see, the root system is very healthy, and very happy but they need more room to continue to grow ... and yes, as you can also see these guys are starting to show their re-bloom already!
We figured we’d also show off some of our other blooming beauties, too!
Our selection of annuals is almost gone.
Perennials remain at 20% off original pricing with a few exceptions.

Can you believe this season is coming to an end, soon? We can't either! Seems like just yesterday all of our "babies" were just that. They are now "young adults" or full on adults depending on when we first planted them!
We are clearing the remaining annuals we have so if you need a filler or last minute addition, get here soon ~

Mums are growing (and growing, and growing).
We are on the fence this year about pumpkins - We'd like your input:
Each season, I make the trip to the Clare County Produce Auction to purchase the larger size pumpkins we offer.
Last year, we had an over abundance left and made some deer & turkey's very happy by tossing them into the woods.
If you are thinking about purchasing pumpkins for the fall this year we'd like to know what size(s) you are interested in and what you feel a fair retail price would be - Our thoughts are as follows:
Small $4 (pictured)
Medium $6-8
Large $9-10
or if we should just do the medium size and go with $7 each

It's time to think about fall bulb planting...
Yes, it really is!
Each year, I ask if anyone is interested in fall bulbs as a PRE-ORDER.
This year, I am looking at the offerings shown in the photos.
I will not order the bulbs unless I have enough pre-order interest to cover 75% of the available product.
Bulbs don't keep well over the long haul ~ unless they are in-ground of course!

I can also order single colors or additional items if you are interested. Just let us know what you'd like.
A 50% deposit will be required to hold your selection(s).
A full refund will be given if we end up not ordering your selection.
Rembrandt Tulip - $2.75/ bulb or 6 for $16
Double Daffodil - $2.50/ bulb or 6 for $14
Mixed Hyacinth - $2.50/ bulb or 6 for $14
Pre-Orders must be received not later than August 20th to ensure availability and delivery is anticipated late September/early October.

I took a day today to take care of my own stuff personally and then had some time to put into my own gardens at my personal residence.
So… I thought I would take a second to share some photos with everyone because I always get folks who doubt that I grow and eat what I sell to you - vegetable and herb plant wise…
As you can see Yes I do.
And some still do not believe me when I say that I started this business so I could have the flowers that I wanted in my own yard for a reasonable price and I wanted to make sure others could as well.
I do not believe in gouging people for profit. It makes me happy just to make you & your yard happy. We will never sell you something that won’t grow where you want to plant and we might even tell you we won’t sell something to you because we believe in truth and doing the right thing. What we will do is send you to a reputable place that will have what you need. Always.
I see so many of your photos and those smiling faces when things come together exactly the way you thought they would even though you doubted yourself. I will always say this: never doubt yourself! And myself and my staff are always here to answer whatever questions you have - even if you didn’t purchase your stuff from us.
I would love it if you would share in the comments, photos of your own plantings that you purchased from my business over the years. I want to smile right along with you.
