🚫 Closed Until the Smoke Stops Trying to Kill Us: Online shopping is available. Private shopping will return once breathing isn't considered a competitive sport

Wednesday woke up and house was bathed in this sickly yellow light and a house filled with this off smelling smoke, a window was accidentally left open. Now, I lost my sense of smell March 25’, recently started to get some back, but only bad things; chemicals and other stanky odors one really doesn’t want to smell. 🤢

Had some things I had to do, dashing frantically from house to car, house to mailbox, car to inside, maybe a total of 20 minutes of outside time all day.

All day, the smoke was so stinky, heavy, thick and the horizon always seemed to disappear 50- 100 ft ahead into a thick haze of cant see 💩.

This day, sent me into the worst asthma attack I’ve ever had the misfortune of experiencing. I didn't think there could be anything worse than anaphylaxis... turns out, I was wrong. There was no epipen to save the day, the “rescue” inhaler, apparently took the word rescue as more of a suggestion than a job description—it actually made everything worse.

At one point I was on the phone with Ask a Nurse, trying to figure out if it was time to head to the ER. Then she heard my symptoms take a turn, and suddenly the conversation changed from, "What are your symptoms," to, "So... you can take her in or we're sending the wee woo 🚑."

I am now home with a tightness in my chest I cannot quite explain. Resting in a room with an air filter that arrived yesterday, a nebulizer close and a rescue inhaler right next to me, wheezing and coughing like that little old man, who worked in the coal mines and smoked for 30 years.

This after only short time outside, this wildfire smoke ain’t nothing to play around with. 0/10. Do not recommend. I'd like to unsubscribe from this particular life experience.

I will link the filter we bought below (no affiliation not paid to share). It wasn’t horrible expensive, it did take this room with tall ceilings from 70 some ppm to 6 ppm in a very short amount of time. Please y'all, stay safe and keep out of the smoke as much as you can.

The Canadian wildfire smoke is horrible, people are having: increased allergy symptoms, upper respiratory irritation, sore throats congestion, asthma attacks, vertigo, headaches, and just feeling “off”.

Limit your time outdoors when possible, use air filters, and try to eat foods high in phytonutrient and antioxidants to help
support immune function and reduce inflammation.

Stay safe, stay healthy, and do not hesitate to seek professional medical help if you need to.

D and I have our rescue inhalers standing by. If this doesn’t clear by this weekend, we will not be opening. Please take of you and yours. 🩵🦓

We are receiving numerous calls from residents asking what they should do due to the persistent poor air quality conditions. Many are especially concerned about older adults, young children, and individuals with underlying health conditions.

Please consider the recommendations below. These are general public health recommendations intended to help reduce exposure to wildfire smoke and poor air quality.

We also encourage everyone to check on elderly family members, neighbors, and friends, as well as anyone with chronic heart or lung conditions, to ensure they are safe and have what they need during this prolonged air quality event.

Please continue to monitor air quality conditions and follow guidance from trusted sources as conditions may change throughout the day.
