Before I delete this page, I just wanted to say thank you to all our customers over the three years and three months we were in business. It started as kind of a crazy idea when I decided to leave my job of 20+ years at NU and do my business Lewiston Digital, LLC full time. I thought "what if I split a space in half, used half for an office, and did a retail store with the other half?" I like crazy ideas.
Most importantly, I had my daughters in mind. I thought owning a retail store would give them a place to work, gain skills, and learn about business and how to work with different types of people.
In that sense, it was a success. I'm proud of it. But, as time when on business slowed and I had less and less time for it, my oldest daughter went off to college, and all of a sudden we're the quirky business that is never open.
I did enjoy meeting new people, and enjoyed seeing customers enjoy products that we so carefully curated. I loved that we were able to carry products from talented, smaller makers. I loved having a bathroom during all Lewiston festivals in the heart of the village.
So what now? While Trait-Carre is gone, I'm now utilizing the full space for Lewiston Digital, LLC a move that was badly needed. I'm busy building the office/creative space I've always wanted.
I'm fairly certain that this space will smell like Trait-Carre for several years.
Anyway, thank you so much for indulging my crazy idea... until my next one.
