🎉 96 YEARS. FOUR GENERATIONS. ONE AMAZING COMMUNITY. 🎉

October is a pretty special month around here — Largent’s Appliance is celebrating 96 YEARS! ❤️

Since 1930, four generations of the Largent family have had the privilege of serving this amazing community. And we know one thing for certain...

We wouldn’t be here without YOU.

So this October, we’re not just celebrating our anniversary — we’re celebrating our customers!

🥳 All month long, watch for Customer Appreciation specials, savings a few other surprises along the way.

From Ralph Largent and our beginnings in 1930 to the Largent’s Appliance you know today, thank you for 96 incredible years.

Here’s to our customers, our community and the generations who have supported this little hometown appliance store. ❤️

🍂 Largent's Tip Thursday #004

Fall is right around the corner, which means it's a good time to give your dryer vent a little attention.

And we're not just talking about lint.

🐦 Birds
🐭 Rodents
🍂 Leaves and debris
🧺 And enough lint to knit yourself another sweater. 😂

All of these can restrict airflow through your dryer vent. Poor airflow can mean longer drying times, more wear on your dryer, higher energy use, and a potential fire hazard.

Here's what we recommend:

👉 Head outside and check where your dryer vents from the house. Make sure the vent cover/flap opens freely and isn't blocked by lint, nesting material, leaves, or other debris.

❄️ And remember it when the snow starts flying! Keep snow and ice cleared away from the exterior vent so your dryer can properly exhaust outside. Don't let that vent disappear under a snowbank!

👉 If your exterior vent cap is removable, take it off and clear away any buildup.

💨 Our little trick: With the exterior cap removed and the dryer disconnected, a leaf blower from the inside vent toward the outdoors can help blow loose lint and debris out of the vent line.

Fair warning: Stand back from the outside opening unless you're interested in experiencing your very own lint blizzard. 😂

⚠️ If the vent is heavily plugged, has a long or complicated run, or you can't safely access it, call your favorite HVAC or professional vent-cleaning company for a thorough cleaning.

And while you're checking things out, make sure nobody has decided your dryer vent would make the perfect winter Airbnb. 🐭🐦🏠

A clean, unobstructed vent helps your dryer breathe—and helps it do its job safely and efficiently.

❤️ Making your life easy, one appliance at a time.

🇺🇸 We Remember.

Twenty-five years later, we remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, the heroes who ran toward danger, and the way our nation came together in the days that followed.

May we never forget September 11, 2001.

25 years. Always remembered. Never forgotten. 🇺🇸

💍 One of the bosses is getting married! ❤️

Saturday, September 19th is a pretty special day around here — Chris & Heather are tying the knot! 🥂💒

We’re actually kicking Chris out on Friday so he can help get ready for the big day. (See, Heather? We’re looking out for you already. 😂)

Then on Saturday, the rest of us are following right behind him! Largent’s Appliance will be closing at NOON on Saturday, September 19th so we can celebrate with them. ❤️

We couldn’t be happier for these two and are so excited to watch them start this next chapter together.

Thank you to our wonderful customers for understanding while the Largent’s crew closes up shop a little early for a very good reason. 💍

Now help us wish Chris & Heather a lifetime of love, laughter, happiness… and Chris remembering that “Yes, dear” is sometimes the correct answer. 😉❤️🥂

❤️ INTERNATIONAL DAY OF CHARITY ❤️

Today we want to turn the spotlight away from appliances and onto something much more important — the incredible organizations that make our communities better places to call home.

From helping children and families… to supporting our veterans, animals, cancer patients, those experiencing homelessness, and neighbors simply going through a difficult season — we are incredibly fortunate to have so many people in our area willing to step up and help.

We couldn't possibly name them all, but we'd love to recognize just a few of the amazing organizations making a difference in and around our communities:

❤️ Christmas Angels of the LC Valley
❤️ LC Valley Youth Resource Center
❤️ Northwest Children's Home
❤️ YWCA of Lewiston, ID - Clarkston, WA
❤️ Willow Center for Children’s Grief
❤️ Lewis Clark Animal Shelter
❤️ Idaho Animal Rescue Network
❤️ Helping Hands Rescue
❤️ Humane Society of the Palouse
❤️ Jackson Peter Ward Strong, LLC
❤️ Jackson's Pay It Forward Foundation
❤️ Northwest Cancer Foundation of Hope
❤️ Lili Cancer Foundation
❤️ Veteran's Relief Fund, Inc.
❤️ AND SO MANY MORE!

Today isn't about who gives the most or who gets the recognition. It's about what can happen when a community takes care of its own. ❤️

Now it's your turn!
Tag a local nonprofit that holds a special place in your heart and tell us a little about what they do. Let's fill the comments with organizations that deserve some extra love and recognition today.

Because a strong community isn't built by one person or one business.

It's built by all of us. ❤️

💡 Largent's Tip Thursday #003

🚨 If your dishwasher suddenly looks like it's auditioning for a bubble bath commercial... don't panic! 🫧😂

We've all had that moment...
Someone accidentally grabs the dish soap instead of the dishwasher detergent.

The result?

🫧 Bubbles.
🫧 More bubbles.
🫧 Still more bubbles...
🫧 ...and now your kitchen looks like a foam party.

Before you grab every towel in the house, try this little trick:

🥄 Pour about ¼ cup of cooking oil (vegetable, canola, or similar) into the bottom of the dishwasher.

The oil helps break down the suds, making cleanup much easier.

Here is what you do:

✅ Cancel the wash cycle.
✅ Scoop or wipe out as much foam as possible.
✅ Remove your dishes.
✅ Pour in the cooking oil.
✅ Run a quick cycle empty.
✅ Repeat if needed until the bubbles are gone.
✅ Wipe out any remaining oil before using the dishwasher normally again.

👇 Be honest...

Have you ever turned your kitchen into a bubble factory?

😂 Yep...
🤫 I'll never admit it...
🙋 It wasn't me... it was my spouse/kids.

See you next Largent's Tip Thursday!

🍕 Pizza for a purpose? Count us in! 🎄❤️

Lunch is on Largent’s today! Our crew is having Domino’s because both Lewiston Domino’s locations are donating 20% of today’s proceeds to Christmas Angels of the LC Valley!

We love an excuse to feed the crew, but we love it even more when lunch helps support an organization doing so much for families right here in our community. ❤️

So if you’re wondering what’s for lunch or dinner today… we vote PIZZA! 🍕😉

Feed the family. Skip the dishes. Support Christmas Angels.
That’s a win all the way around! 🎄❤️

ORDER TODAY!
This is our last Domino’s fundraiser before we start adopting families during the holiday season!
