Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Today is a day my oldest son Gabe will not forget on Thanksgiving day he caught his biggest trout ever of 28 inches on a trout slayer spinner. And some other trout . And my son Cole got a nice 18 inch trout On a trout slayer spinner the big ones are still biting.Central PA fishing is great right now after this rain. all of the trout were released to fight another day.

Check out probably The largest selection of scyco’s lures In Pennsylvania at winner hardware in Williamsport.They have everything the regular trout slayers the crappy slayers the bass slayers squirrel tails, hexagon pattern. They even have the metal heads and some with mop flies on them stop in and check them out if you’re from the Williamsport area thanks Scott for such a nice display.

Very interesting. After my failure to fire this morning brought the gun home to test it out it went off perfect. It killed this paper plate at 30 yards. Now I’m tearing it apart to clean it hopefully we get another deer in front of us this week.

What a beautiful morning to be muzzleloader hunting with the old flintlock. I wish I could show you a picture of the big doe I just shot. However did you ever hear that expression flash in the pan. I just had it happen to me nice flash no boom. Not the first time probably not the last. I had a big doe 40 yards broadside. Pulled the trigger and my trusty not so trusty flintlock failed to fire,bummer. Oh well. Maybe next time.

Managed to get a few steelhead this weekend on trout slayer spinners. The first 2 days were too cold for spinners so Gulp minnows worked good. The next day it warmed up I managed to get one on a spinner and lose one. The last day right before we left I landed a nice 24 inch male and had a big one snap me off if the water warms up on 50°days the spinners will still work. Stop in at Poor Richards in Fairview and check them out theyhave a great selection and everything else you would ever need.They also offer fish cleaning services which comes in very handy if you wanna bring a few home.

The new Metal Head was working today on Penns creek. I caught 8 bass and many trout on it. After lunch switched to nymph fishing. The Golden was caught on nymphs along with a pile of other trout. He was 18.5 inches. All fish were released to fight another day.
