Healthy Handmade Shoes

Healthy Handmade Shoes DVD Set on the Art of Custom Shoemaking Glen Leasure spent years perfecting his craft of custom shoemaking, in his shop in rural Virginia.

He produced shoes for people with foot health problems, transforming their lives, as well as for those who understood the value of custom-made shoes. He strove to produce quality, long lasting shoes as opposed to the “off the shelf” variety most people are used to seeing. Each shoe was made with love and mindful attention to detail for each distinctive foot. Glen taught many students, who came to

his home to learn his craft. He took pride in passing on the art of shoemaking. In late 2009, Glen took his craft to Africa, in order to help those recovering from civil war learn usable skills. Unfortunately, Glen returned early from Africa due to serious health problems. Glen died on August 30, 2010 at his home in the mountains of Virginia, surrounded by those who loved him, including his wife, three sons, and granddaughter. Several years ago, Glen had a friend shoot video footage while he demonstrated the process of making a pair of custom, outstitched shoes. Glen's wife and middle son have spent much of 2011 editing and polishing the video footage he produced in order to make a usable teaching DVD set for the average person. They have also produced supplemental material to aid the budding shoemaker. Their labor of love is available for sale.
