IT'S ALMOST TIME! The art fair at Waveland State Historic Site will be happening from September 12-13, 2026. We hope to see you anytime between 10 am-5 pm with armfuls of Kentucky-created items from local vendors.

- Kids 12 and under are free.

I just read another artist’s post where she talks about how truly amazing it is to see people come together with their art and create a village for a weekend.

Doing shows is not easy. It’s the planning, the fees, the prep, the making, the packing, the setup, the long days, the breakdown (sometimes in the pouring rain!)… all of it. It’s a LOT. It can be a heartbreak or make your heart burst with pride.

But really, it’s about the people. The artists. The food vendors. The people who come to your little weekend market home and want to hear about your art. The people who make it happen in all kinds of weather. It’s truly an amazing experience.

Yes!! The weather is holding out. Shaker Village is a one-of-a-kind place (so peaceful!) and this market is hosting 100+ talented artists, makers, and food vendors. Saturday 8/1 and Sunday 8/2, 10a-5p. I’m in booth number 78, please stop by!

This situation with Shopify is absurd. I’m swing charged for a shop I do not have and have no access to. Read on…

I opened a free trial account with them in 2024 and cancelled it before the term ended.

I am still being charged monthly for an account.

Shopify has confirmed that none of my email addresses are connected with an active Shopify account. These are the only 3 emails I have. This is what I would use to sign in to Shopify, but I can’t because none are active.

Yet, my bank card IS connected to an active account, which I am being charged monthly for. I have been charged monthly for 24 months.

I cannot sign in to the account for which I am being charged.

They can’t tell me what email or shop is associated with my bank card for privacy reasons.

They won’t tell me *when* and *if*
any of my 3 emails have been associated with an active account, so I have no way to tell if I have made an error on my side.

In the 24 months I’ve been charged, my debit card had expired, renewed, and issued a new security code. Also, my billing address changed because we moved. Despite this, all charges to me went through.

I issued a stop payment to Shopify with my bank in June. Yet, another charge went through for July. I had to cancel my debit card and have a new one issued. Shopify says this “should” stop any further charges.

Even though these are my only 3 email addresses, I have no access to any shop because I can not sign in to Shopify, Shopify says since I can’t prove I am not the owner of the shop I am being billed for, I am responsible for charges made to me.

They have refunded me 3 months charges out of the kindness of their hearts but it’s against their Terms of Service to refund any charges at all. Mind you, I cancelled my free trial (and therefore my contract with them) before any charges were incurred.

I’ve requested legal help, which could take weeks if not months to work through.

In the meantime close to 1K in charges made to me hang in the balance.

Have any of you dealt with this? I cannot imagine I’m the only one.
