Flowers is a novelist, playwright, and storyteller whose work spans romance, drama, and speculative fiction. Drawing from her background in theater and performance, she brings a wonderfully theatrical sensibility to the page—creating stories filled with authentic dialogue, emotional depth, and complex, unforgettable characters.  Her work explores the beautifully complicated landscapes of human connection—love, loss, resilience, and transformation—with psychological realism and an honest look at the experiences that shape us. From contemporary romance to genre-bending drama, Flowers’ stories are character-driven and emotionally rich, filled with vivid voices and layered relationships that stay with you long after the final page. A wife and entrepreneur based in North Carolina, Flowers balances her creative work with her career in beauty and content creation. We’re delighted to welcome Courtney Perry to the Wandering Shire Book Market on September 12th!   Courtney is a writer and nonprofit leader in child and family services based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Her writing has appeared in HuffPost, and her work has also been featured by WordPress as standout writing shared with readers around the world.  Her debut collection, More Than One Way: Poems and Reflections on Early Motherhood, explores the many sides of becoming a parent—with honesty, tenderness, humor, and heart.  Whether you’re a new parent, a seasoned parent, or simply someone who appreciates beautifully honest reflections on family and life, Courtney’s work offers a chance to pause and recognize the messy, meaningful, and often hilarious moments that come with parenthood.  Courtney won’t be participating in one of our panels, but she’ll be at the market throughout the day, ready to meet readers, chat about her work, and share her book! We’re thrilled to welcome Claire Kohler | Historical Romantasy Author to the Wandering Shire Book Fest on September 12th!   Claire spends her days swimming with selkies, sword fighting nine-tailed foxes, and fulfilling fairy bargains—all without ever leaving her office chair.  A lover of monsters, culture, and spice-free yearning that has you screaming, “JUST KISS ALREADY!”, Claire decided to create the kind of stories she wanted to read: clean, historical romantasy filled with fascinating cultures, mythical creatures, and plenty of slow-burn longing.   When she isn’t lost inside her wonderfully neurodivergent imagination, Claire wears many hats: editor, Bible study leader, homeschool mom, Peter’s true love, and occasionally, housecleaner. We’re excited to welcome Bruce Buchanan to the Wandering Shire Book Market on September 12th!

Bruce’s storytelling influences span the fantastical and the extraordinary—from the novels of Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman and Stephen King to the legendary Marvel Comics stories of Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Steve Ditko.
He is the author of several anthology short stories, as well as:
⚒️ The Blacksmith’s Boy — a New Adult fantasy novel, released in August 2025 through Wild Ink Publishing
💙 The Return of the Cerulean Blur — an upcoming adult superhero novel coming in 2026

Bruce lives in Greensboro, NC, and we’re especially excited that he’ll be joining us for our 🌎 Opening the Door to New Worlds author panel, where we’ll talk about what makes fictional worlds feel real, where authors find inspiration, and how they create places readers want to get lost in.
