Daddy Long Legs

I’m a pretty good Framer, an okay Dad, and an even better Papa—so don’t judge me too harshly for putting my baby botanicals up for adoption.

When I brought spider plants into the shop, I had no idea the size of the baby boom awaiting my front windows.

I’m merely asking if someone will give a few of these adorable spiderlings a home of their own. Please don’t let them end up orphaned in a basket on some doorstep in the middle of the night.

FYI ~ I don’t separate siblings.

Pipe Dream

Don’t you hate it when you have a nightmare about a work crew burying pipes under the street in front of your frame shop—and crazily install a 10-foot pipe sticking out of the sidewalk right outside your window?

Only to wake up the next morning and go from The Framer formerly known as “The Framer in a Kilt”—to—“The Framer in a Kilt with a Ten-Foot Pipe.”

Hmm… You thinking what I’m thinking? Yup ~ Gonna need a bigger business card.

The Boys are Back!

Nothing says it's Labor Day Weekend like a screaming yellow-and-red triple-axle, 30,000-lb dump truck carrying 20 tons of Massachusetts Avenue dirt and asphalt, caution tape, and a porta-potty—parked right outside your front door.

TIMEFRAME

Anyone who's framed with me already knows: I'm good at what I do and I take my time.

No automated processes, no shortcuts—just one man with two hands, and a deliberate, sometimes maddeningly slow discipline that refuse to be hurried or micromanaged.

The wait is the price. The profit hangs on your wall.

~ After all, money and minutes aren't the measure of everything we do.

Berry Me!

At the risk of sounding braggy, it’s not uncommon to receive thoughtful treats for my framing services.

My sweet spot? Pie—sweet or savory, fruit-filled or cream-stuffed; double-crust or cobbler; warm, butter-crisp, bare, or à la mode.

So, a humble Thank You to C. for thanking me with a delicious 8-inch nectarine-blueberry pie!

~ By the way, on a totally unrelated note, I will also frame for money.

Boot Camp

It’s only Monday, and it already looks like there’s just gonna be one way to climb a mountain of framing this steep—hit the week running and labor straight through the holiday weekend.
