Our bookish events calendar is live for August! We’ve got our regular set of book clubs, but we’re also setting up shop at Lexington, KY Brewery | Blue Stallion Brewing Co. for Bookstore Romance Day on August 15 from noon to 3pm! The Traveling Book Woman of Magpie Collective is so excited for this pop-up bookstore experience (and yes, there will be book bedazzling and other crafts). Ready to freshen up your TBR (To Be Read) pile? Come to our monthly book swap at Lexington, KY Brewery | Blue Stallion Brewing Co. this Saturday! We’re working on a fall revamp, but for August’s swap, Magpie Collective Lexington will be set up 12-4pm. You can swap up to 3 gently used books, and if you purchase a drink from the bar, we’ll let you make a bookmark too!

We finally said the words at Doodles After Dark last night. We’re a s**t club. A s**t club for women, and we’re not ashamed of it. This month, we’re going a bit dark… dark and s**tty with Lights Out.

And if that isn’t your scene, be sure to check out our historical fiction and fantasy clubs where the reads are just as good, but dialed down in spice. Plus, be on the look out for news regarding a mystery/thriller club. 👀

Tomorrow is the last Tuesday of July and it’s gonna be a hot one! We’re talking Game Changers at doodles after dark, our spicy romance book club at Doodles Breakfast and Lunch. We only have a couple seats left so if you’re planning to join us tomorrow night at 7pm, be sure to reserve your spot. Can’t make it don’t want to miss out? After some pilot testing, we are ready to launch our to-go book club experience! We will pack up the wrapped book of the month and a couple other goodies for you to pick up at your convenience. We had such a great time hosting Crafternoon for residents today! Now it’s time to prepare for our bookish event at this Wednesday and our vendor spot at this weekend 😍

No Sunday scaries over here - we’re too excited to host bookish speed dating at this Wednesday, the 22nd, at 7pm!

What is Magpie Collective’s bookish speed speeding? An event designed to equip you with everything you need for the perfect date with a new book. You will receive hints about potential reads, rank your choices, and then be paired with one of those reads. After you have your match, there will be an opportunity to pick out several accompaniments, like a cozy mug and tea. By the end of the event, we hope that you just can’t wait to read your new book. Meet a new friend that you want to discuss how your match ends? Even better!

Seats reserved tonight will receive a bonus accompaniment at the event. DM us for more details, or comment 📚 and we’ll DM you.

Planning your night? We have incredible charcuterie add-on options (vegan, vegetarian, gluten free) from and the always fantastic bar will be open with alcoholic and non-alcoholic options.

If you’ve noticed it’s been a quiet over here, Magpie Collective has been on vacation! Grace and Hannah were at the beach on a big family trip and America was attending a relationships research conference in Scotland. We’re back now, though, and ready for a season full of bookish events, private and public craft workshops, and curating our vintage/antique booth.
