Magpie Collective Lexington

Magpie Collective Lexington Magpie Collective is a women-owned creative collective rooted in community, curiosity, and care.

Through pop-ups, a traveling book cart, and creative gatherings, we create welcoming spaces to slow down, make things, share ideas, and belong. We believe in setting the table for one another– one in which everyone belongs and imagination, creativity, learning, and community can flourish.

A little sparkle, a little coffee, a whole lot of Dolly 💖✨

We had the sweetest time celebrating with y’all — complete with flash tattoos, Dolly-themed snack mix, coffee, rhinestones, books, and some new faces we were so happy to meet.

Even better - together, we raised $150 for Fayette Education Foundation’s Imagination Library chapter! 📚
We’ll be raising funds through next September with a goal of supporting 30 local kids through Imagination Library.

Thank you to everyone who came out, donated, dressed up, grabbed a tattoo, made something sparkly, or laughed with us. This is exactly the kind of bookish community we want Magpie to be!

READIN’, RHINESTONES, & DOLLY IS TOMORROW!

We’ve been getting everything ready, and tomorrow night at Doodles Breakfast and Lunch is going to be so fun!

We’ll be crafting while testing our Dolly knowledge, drinking coffee the way she liked it, and promoting literacy all at the same time.

This is your last call to RSVP! We’ll also have a couple of tickets available at the door tomorrow, just this once, for anyone who decides at the last minute that their week could use a little more Dolly.

We’re kicking off the first of several giveaways we’ll be hosting through the rest of September — and with Lexington’s first Dolly Day coming up on September 25 (also Grace Norton’s birthday!), we’re gearing up to celebrate!

We’ve been thinking a lot about what it means to Give Like Dolly: generosity, literacy, creativity, and using what you have to lift somebody else up.

So for giveaway #1, a few local businesses came together to give one winner three prizes:

Magpie Collective Lexington: One ticket to Readin’, Rhinestones, & Dolly next Tuesday, including a copy of Run, Rose, Run. The event also supports Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

Lucia's World Emporium: A $50 gift card

MidwayArtStudios: One ticket to a Garden Art Focaccia workshop

We love that our first giveaway gets to celebrate some of the local businesses and creative people who make this community so much fun, and we’ve got more coming before September is over!

TO ENTER:
• Follow Magpie Collective Lexington, Lucia’s World Emporium, & Midway Art Studios
• Like this post
• Tag a friend in the comments. Each additional friend tagged = another entry.

• BONUS ENTRY: Share this post to your story and tag Magpie so we can see it.

Winner announced Sunday, September 20 at 6 p.m.

What a great kickoff to our historical fiction book club that meets the third Tuesdays of the month at Poppy’s Flower Bar | NOW OPEN 🌸🍸!

At each of our book clubs, we try to include a special treat from the host location or one of our collaborators. Tonight at historical fiction, everyone got to pick a flower to take home with them - how cute!?

Being able to host pop-ups throughout the Lexington area is such a highlight for us here at Magpie Collective Lexington! If there is a space and/or genre you’ve been wanting to try, please reach out to us! We just love dreaming up our next book club or bookish themed events with y’all.

And, we already can’t wait to be back at Poppy’s for patio season👀!
