Robert's Bookshop

Robert's Bookshop Robert's is a family owned bookstore with the largest selection of used books on the Oregon coast. Between the two stores we try to have something for everyone.

Original illustration art and vintage posters line the walls along with an eclectic collection of antiques, toys, sculptures, and more. Filling three buildings (and then some), it's truly an experience to wander the aisles. We also have thousands of books listed on our website which are not in the store. About two and a half miles north we have another store, Bob's Beach Books, where we carry both new and used books. Come by and see us, we'd love to find you something to read!

We are back open our regular hours!The traffic pattern is still atrocious and we are cleaning up bits and shelving things and many books are out of order at the moment. But the weather is beautiful and we are scheduling buying appointments again—if you want to get on our schedule to sell to us, don’t forget to give us a call!

So close! But still so much to do! A lot of the ceiling is back but still small cuts to fit, cords to run, and books to put back. This was exponentially more difficult than we were expecting, and I am amazed and grateful our people have powered through with us when it is out of their usual bookseller goings on. We are still planning to open on Monday but as usual there will be things we are finishing up and we will have some work being done inside the ceiling around our usual daily bookselling.

Our timing was unintentionally timely! ODOT is working on sidewalks around town and selected this week to begin on the sidewalks in Nelscott and Taft. One lane is coned off, so there is no turn lane. If we had to pick a week to be closed, then I guess this was the one to select because getting here is an obstacle course!

Systems were back up at 5:25–just in time for closing! We are really hoping no more problems crop up tomorrow (but we will need to deal with water leaks at some point soon!).

Problems continue! Internet and phone are down, which means no credit cards at this time. But we still take cash or check and are open for browsing. Crossing fingers, it will be back up by 1pm.

And power is back! Thanks to the people who were workng all night to make it happen. We anticipate being open our regular hours.
