In the early 1990's, Gary Karnes started developing his palette by searching the world for the best cup of coffee. He later opened his first retail location in 1996 in Lincoln, Nebraska and named it The Coffee Roaster. He wanted to show Lincoln the way he believed coffee should taste. In 2009, we moved into our current location at 5022 Old Cheney Road. In 2014, Gary passed the business on to his d
aughter, Sam Karnes, so that she would keep The Coffee Roaster a family run business. As we continue to grow, we are excited to show the rest of the world what Gary has been perfecting for over the last 20 years. He continues to cup and craft each harvest we receive, so that our coffee turns out perfect every time from our roaster, to your cup.
