I led a dual barn quilt class yesterday at the Journey in council grove. I had four people do 12 inch by 12 inch indoor barn quilts and six people do outdoor barn quilts. A first for me was having a guy participate. He and his wife got their outdoor quilt done in two hours. When you have two people working on a quilt it goes fast. The rest of the quilts were completed in four to six hours. Mary and I are looking at October dates for a lighted let it snow snowman sign at the journey. We might do something in between October and now. Thanks to everyone that participated yesterday. Enjoyed meeting everyone and helping them complete their project!

Catch me at the park Saturday morning from 8am to noon. I will be at the main park entrance and have the table and chairs pictured below. If repurposed rustic is your thing I will have this cable spool coffee table and twin sized headboard bench with reclaimed barnwood for the seat pictured below as well. I will also have a sideboard that needs some love, iPad, chrome book, large 6 to 8 person camping tent, 3 sleeping bags, queen sized air mattress, 2 twin air mattresses, battery operated air inflator, 5 tier book shelf, 3 tier book shelf fabric rocking chair, name brand clothes, name brand shoes and miscellaneous decor. I’m also making room in my craft shed so 10% off price on tag for my craft signs and miscellaneous home decor. No early sales! Cash is preferred method of payment.

This past Saturday I rounded up the bunnies at Kay's and took them home. I was talking with one of the pharmacy employees and we were both pretty sure I had my stuff at the pharmacy for the better part of 10 years. Where does the time go? Catarina Rziha thank you for seeking me out and allowing me to have my stuff in the pharmacy. It has been a wonderful experience and I hope it continues!

Wow! Look at these barn quilts! I had a mixed class of beginners and intermediates yesterday in Wilsey KS. One gal told me she was a beginner 2 not an intermediate. I asked if there was a beginner 3 and she said I don’t know I haven’t made it there yet! I love my Wilsey Ladies! Great food, lots of laughs and a whole lot of teasing going on! If you are looking for a fun craft class, Wilsey KS is where it’s at!

Craft class update: I will not be hosting any craft classes in April or May. It is difficult to compete with Easter, Prom, City Wide Garage Sales, Graduation, Mother’s Day, State track, and Memorial Day. As we get closer to June, I will post a tentative schedule of up coming classes. I am open to anyone that wants to host a class in April or May. The only requirement I have is you must have Five people in attendance besides yourself. I hope everyone has a happy Easter and a wonderful Mother’s Day.

I will be hosting a reclaimed free standing wood bunny class on March 14th at 1:30 PM at the Crafty Cactus Studio Marion Ks. I am very limited on reclaimed wood therefore I can only offer this class once and to 10 people. For my demo (first picture) I had to combine two pieces of reclaimed wood so I wouldn’t use any of the wood for the class. The second picture is a picture of the wood that we will be using to make the bunny. The bunny stands three feet tall. All supplies to make the bunny in the first picture are provided. The class attendee doesn’t have to have any craft experience. Under my direction and with my help the class attendee will apply polycrillic to entire bunny, apply paint to make the eyes and mouth, paint the nose, create whiskers from wire with a dowel, glue on nose and whiskers, apply Velcro to burlap bag and adhere to bunny body, arrange flowers in burlap bag and use a screw driver to screw on stand to hold the bunny up. Please allow 2 to 4 hours to complete this project. Cost is $40.00 per person payable in cash day of class. I will have change.
