📖About The Orchard Star
Good things happen in Pleasant Valley, very good things. At least that’s how it seemed in the beginning. A farm carved from the wilderness, a settler raising his family, and a grove of ancient oak trees who were not happy about being removed from the landscape.
The trees called upon their protector, Scandinavian forest spirit Huldra to do their bidding. Felled before they old trees could pass on the knowledge of how to send her away once her job was done, Huldra became a generational menace to the men of the old farm turned orchard.
Six-year-old August became the next man up to answer for the sins of his great, great grandfather but this time, for the first time, a mother would not be denied her defense of her son.
Augie’s great, great grandmother Shirley did her best to prepare him and together, his mother Julie along with four other women of the Earth formed a coven dubbed The Orchard Star. Representing the four seasons, Julie (July – summer), June -summer, Jan (January – winter), May- spring and Autumn, the coven attempt to use all they have learned from the natural world to defeat the shapeshifter Huldra and vanquish her from the orchard once and for all.
What no one alive was able to tell them was there was more to the orchard than meets the eye. A purpose beyond what even Huldra knew, at least until she got there and found out that good things happen in Pleasant Valley, very good things.
