This is what happens when you blow out a steel belted radial on a trailer and then ride hundreds of miles on it. The steel belts wrapped around the brake drum, tightening and getting inside to wrap around the brakes and start ripping parts off the backing plate assembly. Customer brought it in because it was making a horrible screeching sound.
