Sad News at Mystic Maine Quilt Shop.

This hits all in the quilting world. When you are going about your shop hop this year, please be extra kind to shop owners and fellow hoppers in memory of a very kind, sweet lady and her family.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the news of my mother’s passing. This morning I read her all the messages you all have sent and wrote. She smiled, she laughed and she heard how you would continue to support her dream. She held your love and kind words close to her as she left us.
I’m not sure how I navigate life after spending 6 or 7 days a week with my mom for the last 18 years. But I know that with the love and support of our quilting community, I will continue to honor her and show up for her, because in the end, that’s everything.
So in that spirit, Kevin, Abby and I will return to Mystic Maine Quilts on Tuesday at 10 am and resume our normal business hours, with the exception of Thursday April 16, which our hours will be 10 am to 2 pm.
We invite you all to stop in and see us, grieve with us and honor mom and her legacy to the quilting community. ❤️

Ramona made this very simplistic quilt for her Grandson. Pictures show a before being quilted and after being quilted. Ramona does such a good job with her piecing. Lovely quilt for a Grandson who likes the simple things on life.

Pauline added a coordinating border to this panel. She asked for a simple design so it did not take away from the words on the panel. It was quilted with a simple leaf pattern. Quilts do not have to be complicated designs to become works of art. Love it Pauline!

50th Anniversay Quilt for our good friends, Dave and Patti. Glad we could celebrate this special occasion with you, your family, and friends. In the middle of the stars are special messages to Dave & Patti of congratulations and very heartfelt love. Wishing you another 50 years together.

Some of you may know these fabrics from one of the Maine shop hops. (BTW, a new shop hop starts in just a couple of weeks.) Pauline did a great job with her quilt. Nothing like New England, and it is even better in a quilt. A simple quilt design enhances Pauline's work. I hope to see more of her quilts in the future.

Ramona made this quilt for one if her Grandsons. Lucky guy! Fabrics were very much an outdoor theme and woods. To keep with the theme, it was quilted with trees. Nice simple, but beautifully done, quilt. Great job Ramona. It is especially nice on a stormy day like today.
