A moment of appreciation for our bookseller Karolina, who is definitely not a creature of the night. In case you were wondering.

Experience the Noble Capy after dark! On Saturday October 24th, join us for an atmospheric Edgar Allan Poe-themed evening of mystery, ghosts, themed refreshments, and macabre tales.

- Scavenger hunt: Solve the tell-tale clues scattered throughout the shop for a prize

- Themed snacks: Sip from the Cask of Amontillado or partake in the Pita and the Pendulum charcuterie board

- Writing station: Try your hand at writing your own melancholy Gothic verse with quill and ink

- Photo op: Interact with the ghostly apparitions of Edgar Allan Poe and Virginia Eliza Poe (portrayed by the incomparable thespian duo of Ben Jouras and Riley Tomes) and snap a photo with them if you dare

- Costume/poetry contest: Brave souls who win the favor of the Poes with a particularly impressive costume or line of verse will be rewarded!

Gothic or Victorian costumes are welcome (and necessary to have a chance at winning a costume prize!), but are not mandatory. This event's activities do not run on a schedule and can be done at any time, so you can arrive and leave at your leisure during the window of the event (7-8:30pm). Entry is $10/person.

Grateful for our small but mighty Noble Capy team! September is always our slowest month of the year, but somehow there's still a miles-long task list, and these guys save me from drowning in to-dos. Small business is unrelentingly difficult, but having a team like this makes it that much easier to keep building the dream, and we are stubbornly growing day by day. The horrors persist, but so do we. ❤️💪 You may be seeing another new face around soon! 🤫

We had a lovely time at our Finally Fall Maker's Market today, despite the uncooperatively hot weather! Good thing our markets are air conditioned. While everyone was here, we also asked a few of our attending local makers for book recs, and they delivered! Love the variety of reading taste. 📚

If you missed today's event, we have our next fall maker's market on October 17th, which will have a blend of new vendors and familiar faces. You can also reach any of these makers directly if you have your eye on something you'd like to buy from them! Here's a list of the makers in this video plus the books they recommended:

SunDaisyBookmarks - The Book of Doors
Kate Kish - Wait Till Helen Comes
Heart of Stone (no socials but we can connect you if you want a fancy concrete statue!) - A Confederacy of Dunces
Carol Musial Glassworks (page) - Ghost Rider: Travels on the Healing Road
EZ Angel Creations / Jacqui - Finale (book 3 in Caraval series)
Little Moon Whimsy - Something Wicked This Way Comes
Nikolaj - Every Heart a Doorway
Mackenzie’s Makery - Hyperbole and a Half
the_shabashgram - Fall of Civilizations
Spooky-Stitches - The Spellshop
