More clarification on why we are NOT transferring suppressors on a standard ATF Fi***rm Form 4473 is the ATF still has 60 days to appeal. Only Silencer Shop associated dealers and Gun Owners of America (GOA) corporate entities my transfer per ATF Form 4473.
We are excited about the possibility of suppressors being processed using the ATF Form 4473 to all FFL dealers in the future.
The federal government (via the Department of Justice) has a standard 60-day window from the date of the final judgment to file a formal notice of appeal in Silencer Shop Foundation v. ATF, meaning the formal appeal period runs until early October 2026.
Also, joining the GOA as a Corporate Member now would not cover our current inventory of in-stock suppressors which is vast. Our inventory is not a qualified purchased under the Silencer Shop Foundation v. ATF.
We will know more in early October. We appreciate our loyal customers and their understanding of still processing suppressors by a Form 4.
Also, an important point is always ask your dealer if you have any warranty issues if they help you with the process or if you need to contact the manufacturer and ship your suppressor yourself. Our support doesn't end with the sell, like some big box stores or other dealers.
