Welcome to this week’s “In the Market” update! 🌿✨

🥩 We’ve been busy getting the market stocked up this week! We received a new supply of grass-fed, grass-finished lamb from Maygo Broke Farms, raised about 3 miles from Mother Vine. Have you tried it yet? It has a rich, earthy flavor and is great in a Be Ready Farms soup mix or even as a burger patty.

We’ll also be restocking Double B Ranch ribeyes and filets sometime Thursday, plus we have plenty of local chicken, pork, and Louisiana boudin in the freezer.

🥬 Lots of great produce again this week! We don’t carry produce from Mexico, so no worries here. We also checked with The Buckman Brewhouse on the jalapeño cheddar sourdough—the jalapeños they use are either local or from the USA. With the recent surge in questions about local lettuce, we’ll have local spring mix, microgreens, and lettuce heads too.

☀️ It has been hot and dry, and our water bill is feeling it. We’d love to see some rain soon, but at least the highs are a little lower this week!

📅 Heads up: next Saturday, August 15th, we’ll be closing early for a family event. We’ll open at 9am (an hour early) and close the gates at 12pm SHARP, so plan to grab your milk and market goods early.

🔥 Let’s talk SuperTasterz!

If you’ve shopped Mother Vine Market for a while, you’ve probably seen their products on our shelves: WOOO-cest-er-shire, Arkansas Diamond Fire Champagne Pepper Sauce, Arkansas Diamond Fire Bloody Mary Mix, Opera Sauce Mediterranean Hot Sauce, Opera Sauce Prosecco Pepper Sauce (one of Leigh Ann’s favorites!), Opera Sauce Sicilian Marinara, and Key Lime MARG Mix, which is definitely a family favorite around here, LOL!

Now they’re back with something new — Buffalo River Sauce Co. Real Butter Buffalo Sauce!

Supertasterz is the parent company behind all of these creations, and their mission is simple: make the best tasting stuff around without all the garbage and fillers.

Original buffalo sauce dates back to the 1960s and was built around cayenne pepper, vinegar, spices, and real butter. Fast forward to today and a lot of popular buffalo sauces are packed with things like soybean oil, hydrogenated oils, artificial flavors, corn syrup, preservatives, and other ingredients most of us can barely pronounce.

So SuperTasterz decided to take buffalo sauce back to the glory days.

Their new Real Butter Buffalo Sauce is made without the extra junk, and yes, it tastes great.

We air-fried a batch of Harper Farms chicken wings and tossed them in the sauce. First impression? Tangy, spicy, buttery, and seriously good. You get that bright vinegar kick up front, a medium building heat from cayenne peppers, and then the real butter comes in and rounds everything out. It’s salty, a little garlicky, and full of flavor without being harsh or over-the-top hot.

In a world where so many companies are chasing the cheapest ingredients and the fastest dollar, it’s refreshing to work with a local company trying to do things better.

🐓 Let’s talk Harper Farms chicken.

The other night we “robbed the market” and made a meal where 100% of the ingredients came from Mother Vine. Arkansas jumbo sweet potato, Barnhill Orchards okra, and the star of the show — a whole chicken from Harper Farms.

We kept it simple. We tucked Minerva salted butter under the skin, sprayed the outside with Squizito Tasting Room jalapeño olive oil using our Misto sprayer, then dusted it with J.Q. Dickinson Salt-Works bourbon barrel smoked salt.

We cooked it in the air fryer at 375 degrees, but used the roast setting instead of the air fryer setting. The air fryer setting runs more fan, which can dry the chicken out. Ours took about 70 minutes, but here’s the trick: don’t just cook by time. Check the breast and pull the chicken when it reaches 163 degrees, then let it rest on the counter for about 10 minutes before carving.

The okra went in the air fryer while the chicken rested, and the jumbo sweet potato got a head start in the microwave because, well… jumbo means jumbo cooking times. 😄

The chicken was moist, juicy, and full of flavor from that smoked salt and jalapeño olive oil.

Look, we are not food bloggers. No filters, no fancy lighting, no AI magic on the photos. Just a simple market meal idea using real food from the folks we’re proud to support.

If you haven’t tried Harper Farms chicken yet, what are you waiting on? We are consistently hearing from customers that it’s the best chicken they’ve ever had.

And don’t sleep on the wings. We eat them a couple times a week. Super simple: whole pack in the air fryer at 400 degrees for about 25 minutes and you’re done.

We also carry their thighs, breasts, tenders, and ground chicken in the local meats freezer.

Welcome to this week’s “In the Market” update! 🌿✨

🍓 Have you heard the news? Ozark Mountain Creamery, LLC strawberry milk is back! This is our most requested flavor, and it’s back better than ever with no dyes and no artificial flavors. Customers spoke up, the creamery listened, and we’ll have 18 bottles in stock when we open Thursday.

🧀 White River Creamery just delivered fresh mozzarella, feta, pimento, and fromages. We brought in lots of mozzarella this trip, so grab some to pair with those heirloom tomatoes. We have fresh-picked Tennessee heirlooms plus a few of our own!

🍈 We’ve been selling out of cantaloupe each week, so this time we brought in 90 Esau-grown cantaloupes. They also had a little corn left, so we’ll have a limited amount of Esau corn too.

🍑 The Georgia orchard providing our peaches Lane Southern Orchards is about done for the season, but we managed to grab plenty of sweet GA peaches again this week.

☀️ Arkansas produce season is slowly starting to slip away, but we still have some good things rolling in this week. We’ll have local Black Diamond watermelons, cantaloupe, and this will be the last week for Esau corn. If you’ve been meaning to grab some, this is your sign!

🍅 Heirloom tomatoes are getting harder to source, so they’ll be limited this week. We’ve also swapped over to Tennessee red slicer tomatoes and yellow squash for now.

🧂 New to the market this week: J.Q. Dickinson Salt-Works! This is a revival of a family business that started in 1813 on the Virginia frontier. They harvest Appalachian salt available plain, bourbon barrel smoked, and as a craft cocktail salt dispenser located near the Supertasterz MARG mix. We also brought in their organically grown heirloom popping corn and toffee crunch roasted peanuts.

We wanted to pop in with a quick update as we head into the July 4th holiday week.

This week we’re adjusting our hours a bit:

We’re adding an extra hour Thursday and Friday so you can stop by after work and stock up for the holiday. On Saturday, we’ll be closing 2 hours early so we can enjoy a little holiday time too. Fair trade, right? 😄

We will not have ribeyes this week, but we’ll have plenty of what you’re used to seeing in our freezer, including whole chickens, chicken wings (so good- we love to air fry the whole 2 pound pack at 400 degrees for 25 min then toss them in BBQ sauce or a dry rub), ground beef, bacon, and whole lot more.

🥛 We placed a larger Ozark Mountain Creamery, LLC milk order so there will be plenty of whole milk and chocolate milk AND we will also have plenty of tasty Wilson Ranch RAW milk.

So make plans to stop by morning, afternoon, or even after work this week and stock up for your celebration.
