Fantasmagoric
Paintings by Ron Aniello

With a brush in hand, Grammy-nominated record producer, Springsteen collaborator, and composer Ron Aniello creates visual stories as compelling as the musical stories he brings to life. Drawing on the same creative skills he uses in music, he channels a multitude of ideas into paintings. Inspired by Basquiat, Picasso, and Dali, Aniello synthesizes influences from Cubism, Surrealism, and Abstract Expressionism into brash, large-scale, figurative Neo-Expressionist paintings.

“Writing and producing are collaborative — you’re serving the song, and often the artist’s vision, more than your own. A painting is different for me; it’s something I make entirely on my own terms. A song might take months or years to come together, and I don’t always get a profound sense of how it lands with an audience. A painting speaks for itself the moment someone stands in front of it — there’s something humbling about that immediacy.”

Like many artists, Ron begins with the seed of an idea and lets the painting guide him to completion. “A song has a structure it must follow; a painting doesn’t, so it teaches me something new every time.”

Gallery Jupiter is pleased to present this exhibition of Aniello’s paintings. The show will open on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 5:00 – 8:00, and run through October 9th, 2026. Gallery Jupiter is located at 31 Church Street, in Little Silver, NJ. 732-530-8035.

Zooming in on Landscapes

Gallery Jupiter and landscape artist Christie Scheele are hosting a Zoom talk—with an extra!

Christie Scheele’s current exhibition, “The Immersive Landscape,” at Gallery Jupiter through June 30, 2026, features nearly 50 pieces in oil on linen, oil on board in vintage boxes and trays, and oil on paper with natural foraged items composed on vintage blackboards.

This conversation with Ms. Scheele will explore how minimalism, an open vista, and mood in the landscape are created through color and composition, paint application, and time spent in nature. Scheele’s attachment to the natural world is expressed both in her work and in an eco-activist publishing project, the Ecoaction Card Deck, soon to be launched.

Finally, expanding on the green theme, Ms. Scheele will demonstrate how to mix a simple palette of greens using Prussian Blue, Yellow, Black, and White. She will field audience questions at the end of the demo.

Ms. Scheele holds a BFA in Painting from the School of Art and Design of the NYS College of Ceramics at Alfred University, Alfred, NY. She also studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Art of San Fernando and the University Complutense of Madrid, Madrid, Spain.

The call will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Please email [email protected] for the Zoom link.

I love the way finds the mood of the vintage wooden box and will paint to fill that particular space. As you can see from these images how well she succeeds.

“The Immersive Landscape” will open on Thursday, April 30th, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. and run through Thursday, June 11th, 2026. Gallery Jupiter is located at 31 Church Street, Little Silver, NJ. 732-530-8035.

Gallery Jupiter is excited to present “The Immersive Landscape,” a group of paintings by Christie Scheele. Whether viewers explore her open vista landscape paintings or her new, intimate assemblages, Christie creates environments that offer a powerful experience of nature.

Scheele’s open vista landscapes feature broad areas of color, reflecting the tradition of color-field painting. She omits unnecessary details and reorders elements to create tranquil compositions. She employs smooth color transitions to shape forms, uses soft, scumbled edges, and often uses full-value contrasts.

With the Place Series, Scheele works directly in nature, gathering stones, bark, seaweed, leaves, and other natural fragments. After gaining an overview, she sits and observes with all her senses. The sounds, sights, tactile sensations, and smells influence her experience of place and shape her later studio work.

“Since 2016, as nature has faced more challenges, the open, minimalist landscape paintings I have created for decades have been expanded and enriched through alternative methods, including mapping, vintage boxes and slates, graphite gridding and frayed linen, and, most recently, foraged natural materials,” Christie Scheele.
In anticipation of Earth Day on April 22nd, 2026, artist/environmentalists Kathleen Sweeney and Christie Scheele, along with designer Dominick Santise, developed the EcoAction Cards. With 12 categories x 5 activities, EcoAction Cards bring users together through beautiful artwork and key information on topics to think about, understand, and act on. They also provide DIY ideas to inspire and support personal and community action. Several starter decks will be available for your perusal.
