Papaloko & Loray Mistik bring the rich musical, spiritual, and cultural traditions of Haiti to the 74th Annual Florida Folk Festival. Led by multidisciplinary artist and cultural ambassador Jude Thegenus, also known as Papaloko, Loray Mistik blends traditional Haitian Vodou rhythms such as Rara and Petwo with contemporary influences in a powerful style known as “Vodou pop.”

Their performances are ceremonial experiences that extend beyond entertainment, incorporating music, dance, ritual elements, and cultural symbolism rooted in Haitian spiritual traditions. Using instruments such as sacred drums, kleroon, graj, conch shell, guitar, bass, and saxophone, Loray Mistik creates immersive performances shaped by African, Indigenous, and diasporic influences.
