100% FREE Veterans and First Responder classes are being taught through Forging Forward South Texas in South Texas. You get to come make your own knife, meet awesome people, and network with professional smiths and vendors to learn to do what we do. We have amazing smiths that I’m super proud to work with such as Tobin Nieto Gronz Grumpy Goat - Jessie BrowTine Blades and more that I can’t tag. Vendors are here too so that you can get the best materials to work in this craft such as Mike Turner Sara & Terry Dunn . Come learn how to make cool stuff!!!

This right here is by far the hardest part of making a hidden tang handle; the guard. Having as little of gaps as possible where the steel meets the guard takes a lot of time and practice. If you’re interested in learning how to smith, take the time to get as close of a fit as possible. It looks nicer and helps reduce any chance of something wiggling that shouldn’t. 🤙🏽
