Fifth Wednesday small numbers today, but Marvel owns the "skip week" by default with Queen in Black #1 (including a blind bag version) and two spinoff's ...Hela and ...Defenders of Earth, among a fairly normal supporting cast, while DC, Image, take it easy, and the Other Guys have pretty average numbers, including the Greatest American Hero #1, which might be fun.

Moderate week for comics, with a high Variant Cover Quotient. I called Bob Tuesday and he said his phone was telling him to evacuate at 4:30. I hope that was a drill. My AC magically started working just in time for the wind to change, blowing the smoke NW and bringing temps into the 70's. Something good somewhere.

We are on too many days in a row above 88 and are promised another 5. And we are starting to get smoke from Canada, but at least we aren't Michigan. Yet. Pretty "hot" week on Bob's shelves with 230 comics, and 50 books, so you are bound to find something. Absolute Catwoman #1 reprint!

Happy Birthday, America - now it's time to finally grow up and start getting it right. Absolute Bat and Cat, 2 Amazing Facsimile-Mans, Daredevil, and Jeff, at least a dozen Ben 10's, and 170 other new comics to while away the lazy summer hours. Get in there and get started.

It's been so hot here since Sunday, and I have 3 big windows, all facing east, that my apartment is hard to live and sleep in. I didn't even want to run the microwave. I put a damp rag on my chest as I fell asleep in front of the fan Monday night. Today is cool enough I made toast and coffee, but by evening, I need to bake that take and bake pizza I bought Sunday, so wish me luck! Oh, and lots a comics today.

Wow, this day got away from me. I did all the prep work for this, then came to open my store and 5 hours later, here I am. Don't ever open a comic store. Lots of comics today, and the same old balloons up top to celebrate USA's 250th. Yay!
