In this quick field fix, we use a Visual Fault Locator (VFL) at the lobby rack to spot light escaping right at a broken pigtail connector. Instead of spending time setting up a splicer, we swap it out on the spot using an AFL SC FAST Connector in under 2 minutes.
Quick Step-by-Step Breakdown:
1️⃣ Slide the strain relief boot onto the cable jacket.
2️⃣ Strip 35mm, clean the bare strand with an alcohol wipe, and cleave between 10.5mm and 13mm.
3️⃣ Insert the fiber until it slightly bows, release the wedge clip to lock it, and slide the boot up!
No glue, no fusion splicer, and zero hassle. 🙌
