🎬 C.R.A.P. CHRONICLES – Season 2, Episode 24

“Can You Solve the Puzzle?”

Opening Scene

Poor Tonia…

She spent the entire day cooking in the Twistee Treat Diner while Roy was supposed to be at home taking it easy, recovering from a summer cold.

After all, when you’re sick, the doctor says to stay home, rest, drink fluids…

Apparently Roy heard…

“Drive over two hours to Peoria with the Beast, the gooseneck trailer and the skid steer to bring home something enormous.”

Because that’s exactly what happened.

The Reveal

As evening rolled around, Tonia looked out the window expecting to see Roy finally coming back from a relaxing day at home.

Instead…

Here comes The Beast.

Pulling the gooseneck.

With the skid steer.

And on the trailer…

A 6½-foot tall giant cube.

Of course.

Roy’s Explanation

Now before everyone starts asking…

No… Roy didn’t buy a giant Rubik’s Cube.

Well… not exactly.

This incredible stainless steel and concrete sculpture was built by Bessler Welding in 1997 and originally stood at Midstate College in Peoria, Illinois, where it served as the college’s symbol in the center of an outdoor fountain.

When the college property changed ownership and the fountain was eventually removed, the cube was saved and stored for years.

Until Roy found it.

Because apparently giant concrete cubes eventually end up on Facebook Marketplace.

Tonia’s Version

“So… let me get this straight…

You were sick.

You were supposed to be resting.

Instead you drove over four hours round trip…

…to bring home…

A giant concrete cube.”

Roy’s Version

“It’s not just a cube.

It’s history.”

Now the Midstate Cube begins its next chapter along Historic Route 66 at the Pink Elephant Antique Mall.

Eventually, it may even receive a colorful new life…

But first, we’re giving Midstate College alumni the chance to visit an old friend and relive a few memories.

🤔 The Great C.R.A.P. Debate

So here’s today’s question…

Can YOU solve the puzzle?

🟩 Is Roy a brilliant roadside treasure hunter, rescuing unique pieces of Illinois history before they’re lost forever?

🟥 Or is Tonia absolutely right… and it’s just another trailer load of C.R.A.P.?

As always…

We’ll let the jury decide. 🤣
