Flower farmer lesson of the year! 🌸

Last year I used black shade cloth over my ranunculus and anemones. This year I switched to white shade cloth after learning it reflects more sunlight and keeps plants cooler.

The difference has been incredible. The ranunculus and anemones growing under the white shade cloth are still blooming beautifully, even in the heat we’ve been having.
Meanwhile the ranunculus I grew early in crates under shade trees have already finished due to the heat.

Every season teaches me something new, and this year’s lesson is that a few degrees can make all the difference. I’m enjoying every stem these beauties are giving me!
