π Happy FIVE year anniversary to Ellirue!! π
It's hard to believe it has been five years since the inception of Ellirue Designs, but in those five years, I have learned SO MUCH about business, trends, customers, finances, printing equipment, and myself.
To commemmorate five years of success, I decided to do a little rebranding!
You may notice the logo change, and that "Designs" has been dropped from the business name.
In 2021, when I first started, I was using a Cricut cutter and software. Designing images in Cricut Design Space came easily to me, and I could make just about anything. In the years that followed, I moved into Direct To Film printing, which requires image file types that were much more complex. I taught myself the basics of Inkscape, an entry-level designing program, but it occured to me that the designs some customers were requesting were becoming a real challenge for me to create. I thought maybe I would save up and take a graphic designing course, but the rigors of going back to school were not going to be feasible for me and my current schedule. I am not going to become a graphic designer anytime soon, so, to be transparent about this, I dropped the "Designs" from the name.
Going forward, I am identifying as a print shop without the designing aspect, and any custom products requested from me will have to be in either a print-ready format (PNG or SVG), a pre-made graphic I can purchase from Etsy, or a design that is possible for me to replicate from scratch. Custom designing will incur a fee. I know this is going to make it more challenging for some of my customers, but if you knew the amount of time and sweat and research it takes to create custom designs based on just a photo you've sent, I promise you'd understand!
All products ordered directly from my website, still found at www.EllirueDesigns.com, are always ready to print!
This new brand and logo is a major nod to the previous Ellirue Designs, but also has us pointed in a new direction: forward!
I would not have made it this far without all of you. You are truly what has helped me become successful. You've been with me through the ups and downs of the economy, machine management and other entrepreneurial learning curves. I am forever grateful to you and my family for making this dream possible and sustainable, and I look forward (with vigor!) to the next five years!
