Last chance to get chocolate strawberries and/or caramel apples for Mother’s Day! 🍓🍏💕

Strawberries will be made fresh and available for walk-ins. Pre-orders will close out online by 11am Saturday 5/9.

Caramel apples were made fresh on 5/6 and will last till 5/11. Selling apples at 20% off, walk-ins only.
~we were sad we missed the apples last Fall, so brought some out for Mother’s Day and will definitely have them again this Fall 🥰

There is limited availability left of our Sea Salt Caramels and very minimal left of Chesters-Turtles.
~our caramels are harder to keep in stock because they are made in smaller batches, take more time to make, and can sell just as fast as our toffee but our toffee remains the biggest seller and can make bigger batches of those more quickly to keep in stock~

Still living the Sweet Life 🩷🍫
Founder Margaret Carlson and Owner Wendy Carver celebrate their birthdays in March and April, with Margaret now reaching a remarkable age at 99! 🎉

With 44 years in as a business, we are still going with the third generation in the family as Margaret and Wendy leave a legacy to their grandchildren and children respectively; Aubrey, Laura, and Sarah Carver. All have grown up going to craft shows as kids and then working at the candy shop through high school and college, with Sarah assisting and managing after college, and Aubrey and Laura assisting after moving back from Texas and Arizona. Laura has now stepped into management over the last 3 years and transitioning to succeed their mom, Wendy Carver. It has been a slow and difficult transition as Wendy can no longer work and remember things as she used to; and Laura balances work and family life with her own three children at home while learning the ropes of a small business owner.

We surely miss all the days Margaret and Wendy dedicated their lives to growing this business; also with the help of their husbands, Chester Carlson and Dale Carver as the cooks, and the village of help we had from other family members and friends. Margaret’s specialty was molding and dipping all the favorite and unique chocolates and also helping in the last steps of enrobing the signature toffees and caramels. And she worked all the way up until she was 96! While we originally only sold at craft shows since 1982, Wendy started up the first storefront in Lockport, IL in 1993. Wendy has maintained and grown the business since. We moved to our current bigger location since 2016 still located in Lockport on State Street along with our online store at hollingworthcandies.com

We want to keep the family legacy going and appreciate your patience and continued business with us as we have been navigating a difficult transition. Things are not as they used to be with the village of people we had to support us. But we keep going and it’s time to find the village of the next generation of people to keep this business going. 🫶🏼

Hollingworth is so happy to have partnered with Bishops Hill Winery located nearby in Joliet, IL 💕 Featuring our Signature Milk Chocolate Pecan Toffee along with our Dark Chocolate Pecan Toffee on their “Bite Flights” paired with their award winning wines from one of the largest competitions in North American Wines. Go check them out this weekend for a late valentine date and enjoy our handcrafted toffee with a wine tasting 🥰🫶🏼
