Sorcha Boru was the studio name of Claire Everett Stewart (née Jones; April 13, 1900 – January 30, 2006), a potter and ceramic sculptor. Most of her works include small items such as figurines, vases, planters, and salt and pepper shakers, mostly done in the art deco style. One of her pieces includes an "Alice in Wonderland" chess set (1932).

Stewart was born in San Francisco, California and graduated from the Girls High School in San Francisco in 1919. She received a bachelor's degree in English from the University of California Berkeley in 1924. In 1926, she married Ellsworth R. Stewart (1897 – 1971) whom she met while they were students at University of California, Berkeley.

From c. 1932-39, Stewart had a studio at the Allied Arts Guild in Menlo Park, California. From about 1940 to the mid-1950s, she had a studio at 430 El Camino Real in San Carlos, California with a production factory nearby in San Carlos, operated by her husband who made pieces using molds.

Pink "Royal Lace" Depression era Cookie Jar by Hazel Atlas ca. 1934-41 (free Shipping)

This Beautiful "Royal Lace" Cookie Jar has a few rough edges as these were made so quickly that the care wasn't taken to smooth the edges because this glass was given away at Movie Theaters, Gas Stations, Carnivals and through promotions all to make the consumer come again and again. This was considered cheap but pretty Glass.

By the 1900s, Hazel-Atlas was a large glass maker, with 15 plants, including ones in Ada, Oklahoma; Clarksburg, West Virginia; Montgomery, Alabama; Oakland, California; Pomona, California and Zanesville, Ohio. Hazel-Atlas made large quantities of "Depression" pressed glassware in a wide variety of patterns in the 1920s–1940s, along with many white milkglass "inserts" used in zinc fruit-jar lids, many types of milkglass cold-cream jars and salve containers, and a large variety of bottles and jars for the commercial packaging industry. "Atlas" was the brand of the company's most popular line of fruit jars for home canning.

Right off the bat, this is "NOT" a reproduction, this Pink Royal Lace Cookie Jar is the real thing. The reproduced ones are a totally different color and much heavier.
