I think many growers have a “I could figure it out” or “I could make it happen” mentality.
We’re not just growing flowers. We’re growing skills harvesting, designing (if you’re making retail bouquets), & marketing.
This is about looking at other factors in your unique situation:
Growing space, time, support, customer base.
About my situation: I’ve got lots of space, full-time, working mostly solo, moved 2 years ago and knew no one.
~So I need to limit my growing area to how much I can turn over between plantings/how many beds I can flip mostly by myself.
~How much time I want to spend harvesting and how often
~Growing a strategic bouquet design for faster assembly
~Scaling flower volume with the size of my customer base and sales outlets
3rd in a series! - I’m sharing things that I’ve learned transitioning from growing flowers for personal use versus growing them commercially.
*This is my experience and opinion. I welcome you to simply add it to your research to make decisions that are right for you and your garden.
